Is it wrong for a Christian to use a tanning bed?

Question:

Is it wrong for a Christian to go to a tanning bed to get a tan during the summer months, if she doesn’t have time to lay out in the sun because of working full time? Is it wrong to want a tan?

It is not wrong or sin to get a tan. Moreover, each child and mature needs to be exposed to sunlight to be healthy.

I suppose the reason for asking is more one pertaining to appearance, not to health. It is known that most women who use tanning bed want to darken their skin.

It is not a violation of God’s commandments to darken your skin using a tanning bed, but it seems better not to resort to this method because it carries a high risk of contracting skin cancer and other dangers.
