What to do when you feel empty, superfluous and no longer want to live?

Questions:

What is happening to me? I don’t like life and I don’t have the desire to live. I lost interest in life, and I have no purpose, even though my whole family is Christian. I know so many spiritual things and I know where I will end up after death for my sins. I try to see the light in people and I can’t see it. This upsets me because I see only evil and greed. And I have a feeling this planet is not worth saving. I feel morally exhausted. I don’t know, maybe I need something, my parents tell me a lot about religion (and I know that this is sacred and it is not discussed) but something is lacking… I feel empty and superfluous.

God created us to live for His glory and to reflect His character on this earth. As long as they stay away from this call, no other goal that people set for themselves can bring them fulfilment.

After conquering the known world at that time, when he arrived on the shores of the Indian Ocean, Alexander the Great knelt on the sand of the sea in front of his soldiers and wept like a child, saying, “Is this all I lived and fought for? ” Moreover, before his death at the age of 32, he asked his servants to take his hands out of the coffin and let everyone see that he was leaving this world empty-handed and not taking anything with him at all after he fought and became so famous.

I think it would be good to think carefully about the things your parents talked about and realize that you have conceived them so far as a “religion that fills your ears” and not as important truths that can help you have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ by entering the New Covenant and being born again.

My advice to you is to pray to the Lord now and tell Him about your state, about the disappointments you have, and that you want to have a true relationship with Him (if that is also the desire of your heart). Then ask God to speak to you personally as you read the Bible. Begin to study the New Testament and let God speak to you through His Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus said:

Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NASB)

If you have the opportunity, I invite you to come to a camp where you will have the opportunity to meet young people who have gone through the same conditions as yours, or maybe even more desperate, but who have now come to have a personal relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ and who have found the purpose of their lives and much fulfillment in living right for that purpose.
