Is Mary in heaven or is she asleep with all the saints?

Question:

Is Saint Mary, the Mother of the Lord, in heaven, or is she sleeping until the coming of the Lord?

In the Scripture it is written:

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruit of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.  But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming (1 Corinthians 15: 20-23)(NASB)

Jesus is called the first fruit of those who are asleep. Concerning the resurrection from the dead, Jesus is the first fruit, for He rose on the third day and then over 40 days He ascended to heaven. Nowhere in the Bible it is written that after the physical death Mary had risen from the dead or ascended to heaven. Those who make such statements, no matter how old they are, do not have the slightest biblical basis to make them. Besides the Lord Jesus no one has risen yet with a resurrection similar to His, and  the Scripture clearly says what is the order. Take a close look at the verse that I have quoted, and you will see that it is written that Christ is the first fruit, then the next who are resurrected are those who are His, the Christians and they will rise again when He comes. Mary is part of those who are Christ’s, and she will rise with all the other saints.

There is someone who visits this website portal from time to time, and whatever is the subject, he turns to Mary, and anyone who thinks she is not a Savior, or that she is eternally virgin, or that she would have born more children, calls him heretic and sectarian. I can tell what reaction the person will have to this article and others like him/her. Therefore, let us not forget that the basic criterion is not what we believe, but what is written in the Bible.

I recently began to preach the gospel to a Saint Petersburg taxi driver, and I was amazed at the statements made by that man. He said that everyone was created by people. I asked him if he heard himself, and he said yes, it sounds good and he thinks the world was made of people, and he said, “What’s so hard to create a solar system?” It sounded as though he had at home a lab or factory of making a solar systems. Here’s what some people talk about, and what’s in their mind is far from reality. Let us be careful and not forget that the true reality is in the Bible, and we must all judge them from the perspective of this true reality revealed by the Creator. May the Lord help us.
