How to get rid of the passion of debauchery?

Question:

I am enslaved by the passion of debauchery and I have the impression that every day I degrade more and more. My conscience is dirty and oppressed. If I continue like this, I will not be able to have a family. Help me get out of this state and live a clean life.

Yes, you will not be able to have a happy family if you continue like this. Fornication brings many other consequences and the worst is that you will not be able to enter the Kingdom of God but in turn, will be condemned to eternal loss before God, because it is written:

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.” (Hebrews 13:4 NASB)

If you understand the seriousness of fornication and if you want to free yourself with all your heart and live a clean life, with God’s help you will succeed. The following case from the life of Jesus is described in the Gospel of John:

“But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them. The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?” They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” (John 8:1-11 NASB)

Jesus forgave this woman, but asked her not to sin anymore, that is, not to live in the fornication of which she was enslaved. Immediately after these words,

“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” (John 8:12 NASB)

So, if you want to be delivered from the sin of fornication, you must choose to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Light of the world, and if you follow Him, you will have the light of life and you will no longer walk in the darkness of fornication and other sins. If you choose to repent and become a disciple of Jesus Christ, to follow all of His teaching, according to the Holy Scriptures, then you will receive full deliverance from the sin of fornication and other sins. In the same chapter, Jesus said to those who believed in him:

“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:31-32 NASB)

When a person becomes a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, he receives the Holy Spirit and He gives him the power to be victorious over the temptation of fornication and other temptations. The true disciple of Jesus Christ will dedicate himself to the study of the Bible, which is the Word of God, so that he will know the truth, and the truth will deliver him from the bondage of sin. Here I want to recommend some exceptional studies that will help you get rid of the passion of fornication:

Ancient Corinth was a city that was noted for its great moral decadence. Fornication and all manner of sexual perversions, from there, severely affected the population, but after God sent the apostle Paul to preach the gospel, many believed in Christ and became His disciples. Here is what the apostle said about them in an epistle he sent them after he left them:

“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NASB)

I draw your attention to the second part of the verse, which mentions that such were some of the saints of that church. Before they became disciples of Jesus, some of them were fornicators, some of them were effeminate (men who prostituted themselves with homosexuals), and others were homosexuals; so they were, until the day they believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and entered into the New Covenant with Him. Then they were washed that day, sanctified, and counted righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God.

Once you free yourself from the passion of fornication and become a Christian, you must learn to guard against the temptation of fornication as it is written:

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 NASB)

Beware of anything that can provoke you to fornication. These can be not only pornography, but also books with indecent content and message, magazines, movies, and even discussions with some people who make sexual approaches and bring up topics that arouse sexual desire. Every Christian must learn this spiritual wisdom through which to avoid fornication and to know how to control his vessel in holiness and honor. Do not let anyone ignite your sexual lust, even if you live among the heathen who do not know God and continually abuse the sexual element to ignite each other’s lusts.
