A message for those who play cards for money

I had an unpleasant experience recently. I met a group of men in a cafe playing cards for money. Seeing how they cursed, but also their agitation, I prayed to the Lord to give me an opportunity to speak with them. At one point, one of them said, “God sees,” to which I replied that God sees, but does not like what they do.

Seeing how attached they were to the game, I went and took a New Testament and the book “Bible Advice for the Married” and gave it to these people. They were kind enough to say that they would take them with them. I prayed for them and I thought it was important to tell you this message. I know that many of those who follow me practice this game that upsets God.

Playing cards is corrupt gain

I want to tell you, my dear ones, that this game is an unpleasant thing before God, it is a thing of nature that must be stopped. In the book of Proverbs of Solomon it is written:

The wages of the righteous is life,

The income of the wicked, punishment. (Proverbs 10:16 NASB)

My dear ones, I know that many of you have families, parents, and you go to these money games with the hope that you will win. First of all, if you go for such a gain, know that it is a vile gain. From this gain you cannot expect a blessing in life. God ordained you to work in order to earn money.

Any gain is a loss

Don’t believe that you’ll earn more. Any winnings you get from the cards are a loss, so don’t be fooled by them. This gain does not bring life, on the contrary, it is greed and greed is a big trap.

Just because you’ve played cards means you want to win without working. This means that you are caught in a very bad trap. In the book of Proverbs, it is written about greed:

Indeed, it is useless to spread the baited net

In the sight of any bird;

But they lie in wait for their own blood;

They ambush their own lives.

Such are the ways of everyone who makes unjust gain;

It takes away the life of its possessors. (Proverbs 1:17-19 NASB)

This greed brings you loss. I know parents who have bet on sports and gone so far as to steal money from their children. You ruin your lives, but also those of your family. You can no longer have a beautiful family relationship when you do this. The money that your loved ones are waiting for you to bring home you lost in the books in the hope that you will earn more. Do you realize what you have done?! To reach such a serious condition!

Therefore, I want to urge you to repent of this evil deed. And if you call yourself a Christian, or maybe some of you have a cross around your neck, or maybe you go to church and after church you go and play gambling.

Playing cards is a matter of nature

My dear ones, this is a deed of the sinful nature, a devilish deed. Stop doing this. You only bring ruin to your soul, you bring financial ruin to your family, you bring a lot of suffering.

Therefore, do not get caught in this trap, because the devil is compared to a lion who roams around and looks for someone to catch.

Once again, I urge you all to repent of your deeds and come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Believe in Him and begin to walk in spiritual things, for God loves you and in His love for you He gave His only Son to die, the Lord Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. If you believe wholeheartedly in the Lord Jesus, you too can receive the gift of eternal life and be saved.

We must not use money for evil. Gain must be used for life, for good. Do not be lovers of money, but love God. The money you have, use it to do good, to build relationships with people. You must glorify God with the money you earn and not sin with it.

I pray that those who have played such games, either at the computer or at the casino, will understand that this is an ugly thing that will only bring sorrow and suffering, both to you and to others.
