Which sect (denomination) is the most appropriate to God?

Question:

I am confused. There are hundreds of different sects in christianity : orthodox, catholics, baptists, penticosts, adventists, mormons, Jehova’s witnessess…. Is it important for God which sect you belong to,or it is importnat just to believe in Him? Which of these sects is closer to God?

To answer this question it is important to understand…

Which is the deffinition between sect and denomination?

Sects are a group of persons, forming a religious comunity which separates from the official church,  a group of followers of a doctrine, which limited themselves with their own interests. Denomination is a “name” of a christian branch. Even if as a meaning sect and denomination are very close, though in the sociaty in which we live, people make a big difference between them. For our sociaty, sect is an eretic movement, which departed from the truth of the Holy Scripture, while  denomination is a chritsian branch, as the baptists, orthodox, penticosts etc.

I have to mention that no one denomination  has a monopoly on salvation or on the right to be called or not a disciple of Christ. There is only one way to stay close to God.

Jesus Christ is the Way

Apart of Him there is no other way to come to God and to be  saved. When the Savior was on the Earth he said:

I am the way, the truth and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by Me. (John 14:6)

The most appropriate to God denomination is that one which fully understands that no one exept Jesus leads us into the presence of God. He is That One who gives us the right to become children of God, born not of flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God. My friend, not even the good deeds are not a way to God. They are a result of the living faith which you have in Jesus Christ, but deeds do not lead you to salvation, deeds do not lead you unto the presence of God, but only one way- The Lord Jesus Christ.

How can we know if the denomination we belong to is or not close to God?

When some of the Jews believed in Him, Jesus Christ told them:

… If you abide in My Word, you are truly my disciple; and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.  (John 8:30)

A true believer is not a baptist, nor a penticost and neither an orthodox, but a disciple of Jesus Christ. The Word of Jesus is the standard of the healthy teaching which shows us if we are truly His disciples. The word “abide” means ” to continue, to remain under the same roof with somebody”.  In our case this roof is the Word. The true disciples will have the desire to remain cotninue in the Word of Jesus, to live with him “under the same roof”.  Nobody knows you better except the person you live in the same house with. In the same way, we nee to know and to live every single momen led by the Holy Scripture, the Word of God. The last authority of a true christian is the Bible and not other books about the Bible or other books which pretend to have the same authority and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Somebody may ask himself:” which is the Word of Jesus in which I must remain?” The Lord Jesus gave the answer when He said:

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words. And the word that you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me. (John 14:23-24)

To remain in the Word of Jesus, means to remain in the Word of God. This is the most appropriate to God denomination(sect), that one which remains continually in the healthy teaching of the Holy Scripture, the Bible. By His grace, no matter which denomination, we  believers believe in the 66 canonic books. How many does God want us to remain in? In all 66. The true disciple of Jesus Christ has a burning desire to know an fulfill all the Word which is written and submitted through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Any other books, tradition or anything else can not take the place of the Word of God in the life of a true believer.

My friend, we do not go in heaven according with the denomination or sect we belong to. Only the people who believed and were born again (John 3:3,5, 1: 12-13) will see the Kingdom of Heaven and well enter in it. The proof that somebody was born again is the burning love he has for the Holy Scripture. Do you have this love, my friend? Do you want more than anything else to know the Word of God and to live according to His teaching?

May God help us to remain in His Word!
