Why can not a woman conceive children if she has never had an abortion?

This question was addressed by a Russian-speaking reader and, therefore, I will have to explain some terms.

I began to live in civil marriage when I was 17 years old. Now I am 29 and a year ago we officiated our marriage, after living with my husband for 11 years. But we can not have children. I wonder why many immoral women who had an abortion can have children and I, who have never had an abortion, can not have any. Either I undergo a cure or not, God doesn’t give me children. Answer me, what are the sins that I pay for?

Madam, we live in a time when people went way from God and changed values to the point that they called immorality “love” and concubinage “civil marriage.” What in Russia is called “civil marriage” is not marriage, but cohabitation and fornication. Civil marriage is called that marriage which was performed by a government official and not a religious organization. I assume that now your marriage was officiated only by an government official and you didn’t officiate the religious ceremony in church. If so, then now you are in civil marriage and until now you have lived in concubinage, that is fornication. The years when you lived together without being married were years when you despised marriage and in the Bible it is written this:

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4)(NABS)

If you can not conceive children now, can be one of the consequences of the fornication you had committed until you married legally. I advise you to fully repent of this sin and all other sins. Start studying the Bible with your husband and it is important to begin studying the New Testament to understand well the message of salvation and to enter the New Covenant with Jesus. Only so you will receive a full forgiveness for all sins and you will receive the Holy Spirit who will guide you to live a righteous life.

If you have not yet officiated the religious ceremony of marriage hurry up to do it.

At the proper time, when God will want, He will give you children. Until then, I advise you to adopt children. There are so many children in this world suffering because they were abandoned, or under certain circumstances, such as accidents, etc. they were left without parents.  Make effort to adopt children. Recently I met a man who wasn’t even 30 years old when he got cancer and suffered several courses of chemotherapy. Then doctors told him that he could never conceive children. They made great efforts together with his wife to adopt children and this lasted many years, yet they finally managed to adopt one. Just seven months after they adopted a child, his wife became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful boy. Now his joy is even greater because his wife is pregnant again and love reigns in their family.

Put all your trust in God because …

He makes the barren woman abide in the house as a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD! (Psalm 113:9)(NASB)
