What do I think about pastor Terry Jones from U.S.A. who wants to burn the Koran?

Question:

I think you saw the news that a pastor from USA wants to burn the Koran in the day of September 11, as a protest against that event … How do you comment this?

It is not a good thing and Lord Jesus does not teach us to behave so with people of other religion. The Apostle Paul wrote to Christians in Colosse so:

Praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned; that I may make it clear in the way I ought to speak. Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity. Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. (Colossians 4:3-6)(NASB)

The apostle teaches us to behave with wisdom and to make the most of the opportunity proclaiming the Gospel message and we do this through a wise speech, seasoned with salt. Muslims need to know the love of God, to hear and understand the gospel of peace. What the American pastor Terry Jones wants to do does not look like a manifestation of love or wise behavior. By this act he only causes anger and hatred for Christians. In Muslim countries the picture of Christians is very much distorted and by this act our image will be further distorted.

In the Epistle to Titus Paul instructs him to teach the Christians so:

Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men. (Titus 3:1-8)(NASB)

See, when it comes to those who hate us and persecute us because we are Christians, we are taught to be careful to engage in good deeds, to not malign anyone, to be peaceable and show consideration for all men and to tell all people about God’s love, that was shown in Christ Jesus. May God help us all of us, to tell and show them all his infinite love ….

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16)(NASB)

Muslims are included in God’s love and Lord Jesus Christ died for them, too. Who will go to preach and to show them this love?
