Twenty years ago God began to work in Moldova among Christian sportsmen who entered the covenant with the Lord Jesus and began to use sport and inductive Bible study method to teach the Gospel. In the last 14 years there were more than 20,000 children, adolescents and adults who studied at least one Bible course within the Taekwon-do Club “Stolas Leukas”. Many of them became true disciples of Jesus Christ and continue to make disciples through sport in Moldova and abroad. God has blessed us with good results in various international championships. Thus we have athletes that are double and even triple world champions.
All these years I have received invitations from several countries to send qualified instructors, who would start the mission through sport there. Given the need for large and rich experience gained during these years, for the first time we open the International Sport School of Christian Coaches.
In this school there will be intensively trained coaches who will then be able to open clubs in their country or region and make disciples of Jesus through quality training and inductive Bible study. The purpose of School for 2011-2012 school year is to have a group of 20 students who will spend 12 months having an intensive Taekwon-do training program to obtain the black belt. Students will also be taught the Bible and will teach 20 inductive Bible study courses and other important things for the work of a coach. Every week each student will have the practice in groups led by qualified coaches, will participate in training and sports camps. After this school year, we pray that each graduate of the Sports School may return to his country and start a sports section where will be trained about 50-100 students in the first year, so that many new people will be involved in discipleship in those countries.
This year the training will be in Russian, and for the 2012-2013 school year we will open a study group in English. The first group will be made of students who want to pass the Taekwon-do program. In 2012 there will also be groups of soccer coaches, and next years there will trained coaches for other sports.
One can register for this program if he is a born-again Christians, spiritually mature and wants to dedicate himself in preaching the Gospel through sports. The academic year begins on October 1, 2011 in Chisinau, Moldova.
For more details for all candidates wishing to register for this group, and requirements for registration, please contact us at this e-mail. The deadline for applications is September 10.
