It is true that men who have sex with several partners to maintain sexual tone?

Question:

Men believe that more partners contribute to maintaining a high sexual tone, hence deriving the growth of self-esteem. It is a myth or reality? Reality is that many marriages are destroyed because of this way of seeing things. Please, write your point of view.

Sex was created by God for a man and a woman who are husband and wife. Any sexual relationship outside of marriage is sinful and will bring serious consequences. The 7th Commandment of the Decalogue says:

You shall not commit adultery. (Exodus 20:14)(NASB)

Any man who has sex with another woman has broken the covenant of marriage and committed adultery. God says:

Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled;for fornicators and adulterers God will judge. (Hebrews 13:4)(NASB)

It is true that the temptation of sex with another woman than his wife and the act of fornication can make the unfaithful man, for a moment, have an increased sexual tone, if we can call sinful passion of lust this way, but it later brings serious consequences such as impotence, that is loss of any ability to have sex. What will then this man do with his “self esteem”? Let us look at each of the consequences for men who have sex with several women to maintain their sexual tone. We will look at these consequences as they are described in chapter 5 of the book of Proverbs of Solomon.

Eternal Consequences

The author begins this way:

My son, give attention to my wisdom, incline your ear to my understanding; that you may observe discretion and your lips may reserve knowledge. For the lips of an adulteress drip honey and smoother than oil is her speech; but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death,
Her steps take hold of Sheol
. She does not ponder the path of life; her ways are unstable, she does not know it. (Proverbs 5:1-6)(NASB)

Adultery brings eternal consequences and the one who is overcome by adultery will go to Sheol, where he will expect the great day of God’s Judgment at  the Great White Throne and then he will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.

Life consequences (economic, health, reputation)

Further, the wise Solomon presented other economic, health and reputation consequences:

Now then, my sons, listen to me and do not depart from the words of my mouth. Keep your way far from her
And do not go near the door of her house, or you will give your vigor to others and your years to the cruel one; and strangers will be filled with your strength and your hard-earned goods will go to the house of an alien; and you groan at your final end, when your flesh and your body are consumed; and you say, “How I have hated instruction! And my heart spurned reproof! “I have not listened to the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to my instructors! I was almost in utter ruin in the midst of the assembly and congregation.” (Proverbs 5:7-14)(NASB)

Infidelity brings momentary pleasure that will change into serious economic consequences because you  will give your strength to others and will be ruthlessly exploited by people, aliens will take from your property and will you work hard for another house. But there will also be consequences related to your health, namely, your flesh and body will too quickly be consumed and you will understand then that immorality also brings impotence, and impotence will seriously affect the “self esteem” of the man who has had sex with other women.

Learn to rejoice in your wife

God teaches every man to enjoy his wife and to find sexual fulfillment with her:

Drink water from your own cistern and fresh water from your own well. Should your springs be dispersed abroad,
streams of water in the streets? Let them be yours alone and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth. As a lovinghind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; beexhilarated always with her love. (Proverbs 5:15-19)(NASB)

There is a danger presented in this passage to expose your marriage partner to the temptation of infidelity, since you will not fulfill her sexual needs and your springs would be dispersed abroad. Therefore, if you are a man and you read this article, learn to rejoice in your wife and be exhilarated always with her love. And if you are a woman, make sure you fulfill your duty as a wife with sincerity and make your husband be always in love with you and your love and thus, to protect him from the temptations of Satan, for we are not ignorant of the evil plans.

Make sure that the mind lies

Towards the end of chapter 5 of the book of Proverbs, the wise Solomon gives a warning to those who lack restraint and says:

For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress and embrace the bosom of a foreigner? For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He watches all his paths. His own iniquities will capture the wicked,
and he will be held with the cords of his sin. He willdie for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray. (Proverbs 5:20-23)(NASB)

Be faithful to your wife and do not be lied by your own mind. Take care that your mind lies and it shows you great promises and more fulfilling if you start on the path of immorality, but the consequences will never be late. Read about the life of King David and see what tragedy can adultery bring in your life. I will end with the words of the Apostle Paul in the First Epistle to the Corinthians:

Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? Foryou have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God inyour body. (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)(NASB)
