Is it allowed to tell lies to cover the damages?

Question:

In what situations is it allowed to tell lies? For example: two days ago I was nervous and I cracked the door at the dormitory, but I posted something so that it may not be noticed. If the administrator finds out what happened she will tell me to pay her and I have just 160 lei per month. What should I do now and in other situations like that?

God does not like when one tells lies and in the book of Psalms it says:

Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully. He shall receive a blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. (Psalm 24:3-5)(NASB)

Because of this damage you must go to the administrator and admit what you have done, ask forgiveness and repair the door. Next time do not get angry and learn to control your emotions. Do not use lying to hurt or cover the bad things you have done, because it means to live in darkness. Christians do not do so. They are children of light and live in light. If you do not have money to pay, tell the administrator that you want to do something in the dormitory for the amount you owe.
