The Bible is the Word of God and it is the absolute truth. The Almighty gave us this Book so that we could find out His will and by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to receive the forgiveness of the sins and the gift of eternal life. Also through this book God teaches us holy wisdom so that we may live our lives beautifully on this earth. When he spoke about the effects of studying the Word of God, king David said:
Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever mine. I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, because I have observed Your precepts. (Psalm 119:98–100)(NASB)
It is very important for every reporter and journalist to know the Word of God and be able to touch each problem and situation according to the Bible. I will teach you how to do this in this article.
1.Study the Bible systematically so that you may have a good outlook on the Word of God and create an analitical and biblical thinking. I advise you hereby to take advantage of the resources of the inductive Bible study that are published abundantly in English, Russian, Romanian and other over 130 world languages. Joshua, at the beginnig of his activity as a leader of the people of Israel, received this commandment from God:
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. (Joshua 1:8)(NASB)
2. Study the touched subject according to the Bible, after you have studied the subject according to other sources that you owned. In order to be able to study the subject according to the Bible…
3.Make a list with the key-words that have dealings with the subject you touch and that can be found in the Bible. For example, if you write an article about the role of the sport, you will not find in the Bible the word sport, nevertheless, in the Bible it is written very much about the sport. The words you will have to find in the Bible are “battle”, “contests”, “the one who runs”, “blow with the fist”, etc. After you make this list…
4.Use the Bible Concordance to find all the places where these words are found in the Bible. If you do not have a concordance, you can use a Bible study program. E-Sword is a free-program that can be installed on your personal computer.
5.Study all biblical references where the key words are mentioned and make lists with what you learn from these references. Look at the way your subject is touched thorugh the teaching of these verses.
6.Apply the verses and the teachings to explain the subject you touch.
Practical exercise: Write an article about the role of the church in the modern society presenting the biblical teaching. Apply the procedure that you have learnt to study and to present the subject according to the Bible.
