How not to fall a victim to the human trafficking?

Human trafficking is an evil phenomenon from our society, that is widespread and that lies in the fact, that some mean and evil people kidnap others to use them with unclean purposes. Women are kidnapped the most and sold to sexual slavery, so that they may prostitute themselves in joy houses. But, children are also kidnapped and obliged to work hardly, to sell drugs, or they take their inner organs and sell them to those who transplant organs. Usually, people think that this phenomen is very far way from them and they will never fall victims of the human trafficking. This way have thought almost all those who fell victims, as the girl about whom has been published in the article at the news. Based on this article, I want to give you some practical advice how to protect yourself, so that you may not fall the victim of the human trafficking.

Don’t underestimate the danger

Usually, people think that this danger is far away from them, that someone in a far away country deals with this, but no way the people from their village or city. Last spring I met a schoolmate, who works at a project that fights with human trafficking and he told me that the greatest human traffickants from Moldova are two men from our village, that have been recently sent to prison. Who could ever think about that? That’s why, listen to the advice God gives you in the Holy Scriptures, when He says:

The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, but the naive go on, and are punished for it. (Proverbs of Solomon 22:3)(NASB)

Don’t undersestimate the danger and accept that you can fall a victim of the human trafficking, if you don’t take precautionary measures against it.

Avoid the situations when you can be kidnapped

Once, I was driving the car and I saw a little girl, in a school uniform, with a big satchel on her back and with her footwear in her hands, she was coming back from school. It seems she studied in the neighbouring village and she went to home then, on the road there were no houses, only the field. When I saw how nice she looked, I stopped to take a picture of her with my camera. But, I was surpised to see how the girl stopped and didn’t continue to walk, she kept us at a distance. We were more persons in the car and even a lady was with us, nevetheless, the girl stayed far away and didn’t come closer. I saw how she was looking at the field to see if she could find a place to hide, if it was necesarry. She proved much wisdom and precaution and it was evident that the parents had taught her about the danger of the human traffic. Learn from this girl and beware of every situation or person that seems distrustful to you.

Don’t be easy of belief

About Elena, a girl who fell a victim of the human traffic, it is said that at first, she believed a guy, who offered himself to help her in the park, then that guy brought her to Turkey, where he promised to hire her as a housekeeper. When they got there, he sold her at once for 2000 dollars. The worst is that when she got back home, Helen was deceived again by a former friend of her from Turkey, who convinced her to come back, so that she was sold and sexually enslaved again. The same thing happened twice and Elena proved the same naivety. The author of the article said in the end: “Now, after she came to her senses, the young woman would never believe the people that she would meet on the street and those who would promise her the paradise on the earth in another country.” I would wish so much this to be true, but I am afraid that Elena can become a victim again, because the Bible says that she was tempted twice to enter the path of the wicked. God says:

Do not enter the path of the wicked and do not proceed in the way of evil men. Avoid it, do not pass by it; turn away from it and pass on. For they cannot sleep unless they do evil; and they are robbed of sleep unless they make someone stumble. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. (Provrbs of Solomon 4:14–17)(NASB)

Wicked people are very sly too. They do this the whole day, they think how to lie in wait for bloodshed and to capture blameless souls. That’s why, don’t be credulous.

Study the Holy Scriptures

You might say now: “What dealing does the Bible and the protection against human trafficking have?”. It has and it has many. Even if it is a longer passage, I would like to ask you to read it carefully and to think upon what is written:

My son, if you will receive my words and treasure my commandments within you, make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding; for if you cry for discernment, lift your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and He preserves the way of His godly ones. Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity and every good course. For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will guard you, understanding will watch over you, to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things; from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who delight in doing evil and rejoice in the perversity of evil. (Proverbs of Solomon 2:1–14)(NASB)

How you see from this passage, God advises each of us to receive His words and so, discretion will guard us, so that we may not fall victims of the evil and of their traps. Elena was caught in the same trap twice, because she didn’d have that discernment, that the Bible speaks about.

Ask the help from God

Evil people know that when you have troubles, you are more vulnerable and then they will lay you evil traps. Have you seen what Elena wrote? When she had to spend the night in the park Sergiu came and offered her a place where she might rest and then, also he, brought her to Turkey and sold her. From what happened further on and how he behaved with her, we can easily realize how he had behaved with that girl in the evening he had taken her from the park. Then, again, when Elena came home and the situation in her family was difficult, she became a victim of a new trap again. This time the trap was set by Nadejda, the friend that called her again to Turkey, saying that she escaped from the trafficants, who, in fact, called her to take her in their hands again.

When you come to such difficult situations in life, ask help and protection from God. He will always intervene and help you. Those who seek His face, will not be put to shame. The king David says:

The steps of a man are established by the LORD, and He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the LORD is the One who holds his hand. I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread. All day long he is gracious and lends, and his descendants are a blessing. Depart from evil and do good, so you will abide forever. For the LORD loves justice and does not forsake His godly ones; they are preserved forever, but the descendants of the wicked will be cut off. The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever. (Psalm 37:23–29)(NASB)

Do not be wise in your own eyes

How I wrote at the beginning of the article, don’t think that human trafficking is a phenomenon that is very far way from you and that it doesn’t ever hang over you in any way. Don’t be naive. The same wise king Solomon wrote:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones. (Proverbs of Solomon 3:5–8)(NASB)

So if you want to walk in life according to your own paths, without considering your Creator, beware, so that you might not become soon like the man about whom the Bible writes so:

As when a man flees from a lion and a bear meets him, or goes home, leans his hand against the wall and a snake bites him. (Amos 5:19)(NASB)
