Are Christians allowed to go to the beach?

Question:

I want to know your opinion if Christians can go to the beach (swimming pool, sea) in public places or not? And what are the sins that can appear here? I refer to both the female and the male! I am waiting for a response. Thank you. God bless you!

All people need qualitative rest and Christians are not an exception. Tanning is good for everyone and it strengthens their health. And one goes to the beach in a bathing suit.

I suppose the question has been given because today some men, and especially women, can come to the beach in brief swimsuits, causing sexual temptation, or some women even go to extremes coming on the beach topless or completely naked. Those who do so should be aware that this is a bad thing, because it becomes a great stumbling block for others, and nudity or brief and provocative clothing (which some now call it sexy clothing) makes people commit adultery in their hearts and not only.

Many people wear sexually provocative clothing in normal circumstances, as well, not only on the beach. A God-fearing Christian would not do so because she understands the seriousness of the words of Scripture that say:

Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. (1 Timothy 2:9-10)(NASB)

The principle of dressing decently, modestly and discreetly must be also applied when you go to the beach.

In this age that claims to be extremely modern and educated there is very much ungodliness and living according to the worldly passions, and we, as Christians, believed in Jesus Christ and by grace were saved, but it is also by grace that we live our daily lives. We should take heed that …

… the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory ofour great God and Savior, Christ Jesus. (Titus 2:11-13)(NASB)

Going to the beach, think if there might be someone or something that will attract you into ungodliness and worldly desires, which God tells us to deny them. Take heed to your swimsuit and how you will appear and behave there, so that you may not arouse the passions of those who are around you.

If you choose to go to the beach, avoid places where there are men and women who dress themselves provocatively and briefly.

And if you believe that it not proper for a Christian to go to the beach, do not go, for that would mean that you are doing contrary to your conscience, and this is also a sin, as it is written:

But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. (Romans 14:23)(NASB)

At the same time, I think it is not good to impose your opinion on others, but keep your opinion for you …

The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. (Romans 14:22)(NASB)

God help you to proceed wisely and avoid being a cause for stumbling in speech and deed.
