The bible wasn't written by a pagan king, but was written by Pagans.

it is the reading, meditating on and application of gods word in our lives that provides the opportunity for finding purpose, truth and salvation. Not merely reading it. The history of the bible shows it is the most printed book in the last 600 years but not the most widely read, sadly. Religious dogma has replaced truth of gods word, ritual and tradition. So obtain a good translation, read and seek to understand by letting the bible explain itself. Review key things because you will begin to understand who we are, why we need help and the consequences of not reaching out for that help now. Read, listen to gods word, obey and apply his principles then you will be blessed

I wonder, if we can see signs of the Apocalypse coming, not only in social turmoil but in the natural world's decadence, Why is the church still encouraging women to have children? If we see millions of children without homes, How can it be good to encourage people to reproduce instead of adopting?

IS PRAYING TO DEAD PEOPLE A SIN? Is it a sin to pray to the Virgin Mary and other dead saints? Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Go Satan! For it is written,' "You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.' " Praying to any person or anything is worship. WORSHIP DEFINED: To revere, stressing the feeling of awe or devotion. Adoring reverence or regard. Any worship of anyone or anything other than God is sin. The Virgin Mary is not God nor does she have the power to grant petitions of prayer. If men could pray to dead saints and get them answered, then why not pray to saint Moses, saint John The Baptist, saint Abraham, saint Job, saint Enoch, saint The Thief on The Cross or any other dead saint? Dead people cannot hear your prayers and if they could they would not have the power to answer them. Prayer is worship and only God deserves our worship. God knows our every thought. God is aware of every sin we commit. God knows our every move. God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. Those are the attributes of God and what you would need in order to answer prayer. Neither the Virgin Mary, Moses, John The Baptist nor any other dead saint has the attributes of God. They cannot hear you nor can they answer YOUR PRAYERS. YES, TO PRAY TO ANYONE OTHER THAN GOD IS A SIN! YOU ARE INVITED TO FOLLOW MY CHRISTIAN BLOG. http:/steve-finnell.blogspot.com

THE DOCTRINE OF FREE-WILL The teaching that men do not have free-will evolved from the false doctrine that men are saved by grace alone. There is not one place in the Bible that has grace and alone in the same sentence. If in fact men are saved by grace alone and have no free-will, there are many things that would be true. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to have faith so they could be saved. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to repent. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to confess Jesus as the Christ. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins. If men have no free-will, then God would be responsible for all of the sins of mankind. If men have no free-will, why did the men on the Day of Pentecost ask "Brethren, what shall we do?" (Acts 2:37) If men have no free-will, then why did the jailer ask Paul and Silas, "What must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30) If men have no free-will, then why did Saul ask, "What shall I do Lord?" (Acts 22:10) Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bring salvation to all men. God's grace is available to all men. Grace is not forced nor is it denied to any man. MEN HAVE FREE-WILL! UNLESS THE FATHER DRAWS HIM John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. What is the meaning of John 6:44? 1. Does it mean only a few, who have been selected by the Father, will be saved? No, it does not. 2. Does it mean that men only respond to the gospel because of irresistible grace? No, it does not. WHO ARE THOSE THAT THE FATHER DRAWS? John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. The Father draws all who hear and learn. The Father does not force anyone to hear or learn. Men have free-will. God does not impute faith into a few so they will believe and be saved. Faith does not come by injection. HOW DO MEN HEAR AND LEARN? Romans 10:13-14 for "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? Men need to hear the gospel before they can learn and believe. The Father draws men by the gospel. Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Faith comes from hearing the gospel. Faith does not come because the Father selected a chosen few, before the world began, to be saved. All who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior are the chosen and that includes whoever accepts God's terms for pardon. Faith does not come because of irresistible grace. God the Father draws men to Jesus with the gospel. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, IT IS THE GOSPEL THAT DRAWS MEN TO JESUS! IRRESISTIBLE GRACE IS NOT THE METHOD THAT THE FATHER USES TO DRAW MEN TO JESUS. Romans 10:21 But as for Israel He says, "All the day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people." Israel as a nation reject the gospel. How would that be possible if irresistible grace were in play? Israel turned away from God. Matthew 23:37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Jerusalem was unwilling to be drawn to Jesus by believing the gospel. They had a choice. John 5:39-40 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. The Jews had the opportunity to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, but they were unwilling. There was no irresistible grace in play. The Father draws all who are willing to believe the gospel. John 6:40 This is the will of My Father, thateveryone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." IF YOU ARE READING THIS BLOG YOU ARE ONE OF THE "EVERYONE" WHO HAS A CHANCE TO BE BELIEVE THE GOSPEL AND BE SAVED. MEN REJECT GOD. GOD DOES NOT REJECT MEN DUE TO NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN. THE FATHER DRAWS MEN TO JESUS THROUGH THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL. MEN ARE NOT DRAWN TO JESUS BECAUSE THEY WERE PRESELECTED FOR SALVATION! What sign proves the baptism with the Holy Spirit?

11 feb 2009 | ora 10.16 Doctrine | Priest Vasile Filat

Question:

At the baptism with the Holy Spirit what is the exact sign that proves this work? The existence of faith and repentance? The manifestation of a spiritual gift (especially speaking with other tongues) or anything else?

Be a witness of Jesus Christ

Before the ascension of the Savior to heaven

Gathering them together, He commanded them (the disciples) not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:4–8)(NASB)

This was the main sign about which Jesus said it will be shown in the life of the one who is baptized with the Holy Spirit. He will be the witness of Jesus Christ everywhere, because he will live like Lord Jesus and he will tell people about the salvation we can have only by faith in Jesus Christ.

Since the Holy Spirit descended in the day of Pentecost, all those who were baptized with the Holy Spirit were living witnesses, who wanted to know God’s Word, lived according to this Word and share with others about the salvation by faith in Christ Jesus. All these certainly include repentance, i.e returning to Jesus Christ with all your heart.

The obedience to Lord Jesus is the proof of the presence of the Holy Spirit in us

In chapter 12 of the first Epistle to Corinthians, Apostle Paul approaches the subject of spiritual gifts. But, before he explains the subject, he specifies and clarifies so that everyone may understand that the presence of the Holy Spirit is not according to the spiritual gifts, but according to the obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. Here is what the Apostle says:

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware. )You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:1–3)(NASB)

Speaking with other tongues is not a condition or a necesarry proof of the baptism with the Holy Spirit

The Bible relates us three cases when the baptism with the Holy Spirit was accompanied by speaking with other tongues and these were tongues understood by those who were there. So, in the day of Pentecost, the disciples spoke the wonderful deeds of God in the tongues of those who came together in Jerusalem to celebrate that day. That was the first case in history, that marked the descent of the Holy Spirit. Speaking with other tongues was a sign for the unbelievers and so, they came to God.

Another case took place in the house of Cornelius, when for the first time the Gospel was spoken, at God’s commandment, to one of the Gentiles, the centurion Cornelius. Together with Apostle Peter came some Christians from Judea, they were circumcised. God marked this first event when the representatives of the Gentiles were baptized with the Holy Spirit, through speaking with tongues, as it is written:

All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. (Acts 10:45–46)(NASB)

It is evident that the Gentiles who were baptized with the Holy Spirit spoke with a tongue that was known by Jews, because Jews understood that God was exalted and so, they understood the message spoken with other tongues.

Speaking with other tongues is one of the spiritual gifts

In the same chapter 12 from the first Epistle to Corinthians, it is written:

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills. (1 Corinthians 12:7–11)(NASB)

The presence of the Holy Spirit will be manifested in the life of each Christian according to the spiritual gifts he has received from the Holy Spirit and that don’t depend on him, it is not the Christian’s choice, because the Holy Spirit is the One who is “distributing to each one individually just as He wills”.

By faith in the Lord Jesus, by repentance and entering the new covenant with Him we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, the proof is the full obedience to Him and testifying His Name, that is the Gospel. Speaking with other tongues is one of the spiritual gifts, given to some Christians and it is not the necessary proof of the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
