The bible wasn't written by a pagan king, but was written by Pagans.

it is the reading, meditating on and application of gods word in our lives that provides the opportunity for finding purpose, truth and salvation. Not merely reading it. The history of the bible shows it is the most printed book in the last 600 years but not the most widely read, sadly. Religious dogma has replaced truth of gods word, ritual and tradition. So obtain a good translation, read and seek to understand by letting the bible explain itself. Review key things because you will begin to understand who we are, why we need help and the consequences of not reaching out for that help now. Read, listen to gods word, obey and apply his principles then you will be blessed

I wonder, if we can see signs of the Apocalypse coming, not only in social turmoil but in the natural world's decadence, Why is the church still encouraging women to have children? If we see millions of children without homes, How can it be good to encourage people to reproduce instead of adopting?

IS PRAYING TO DEAD PEOPLE A SIN? Is it a sin to pray to the Virgin Mary and other dead saints? Matthew 4:10 Then Jesus said to him, "Go Satan! For it is written,' "You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.' " Praying to any person or anything is worship. WORSHIP DEFINED: To revere, stressing the feeling of awe or devotion. Adoring reverence or regard. Any worship of anyone or anything other than God is sin. The Virgin Mary is not God nor does she have the power to grant petitions of prayer. If men could pray to dead saints and get them answered, then why not pray to saint Moses, saint John The Baptist, saint Abraham, saint Job, saint Enoch, saint The Thief on The Cross or any other dead saint? Dead people cannot hear your prayers and if they could they would not have the power to answer them. Prayer is worship and only God deserves our worship. God knows our every thought. God is aware of every sin we commit. God knows our every move. God is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. Those are the attributes of God and what you would need in order to answer prayer. Neither the Virgin Mary, Moses, John The Baptist nor any other dead saint has the attributes of God. They cannot hear you nor can they answer YOUR PRAYERS. YES, TO PRAY TO ANYONE OTHER THAN GOD IS A SIN! YOU ARE INVITED TO FOLLOW MY CHRISTIAN BLOG. http:/steve-finnell.blogspot.com

THE DOCTRINE OF FREE-WILL The teaching that men do not have free-will evolved from the false doctrine that men are saved by grace alone. There is not one place in the Bible that has grace and alone in the same sentence. If in fact men are saved by grace alone and have no free-will, there are many things that would be true. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to have faith so they could be saved. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to repent. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to confess Jesus as the Christ. If men have no free-will, then God would have to force men to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins. If men have no free-will, then God would be responsible for all of the sins of mankind. If men have no free-will, why did the men on the Day of Pentecost ask "Brethren, what shall we do?" (Acts 2:37) If men have no free-will, then why did the jailer ask Paul and Silas, "What must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30) If men have no free-will, then why did Saul ask, "What shall I do Lord?" (Acts 22:10) Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bring salvation to all men. God's grace is available to all men. Grace is not forced nor is it denied to any man. MEN HAVE FREE-WILL! UNLESS THE FATHER DRAWS HIM John 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. What is the meaning of John 6:44? 1. Does it mean only a few, who have been selected by the Father, will be saved? No, it does not. 2. Does it mean that men only respond to the gospel because of irresistible grace? No, it does not. WHO ARE THOSE THAT THE FATHER DRAWS? John 6:45 It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught of God.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. The Father draws all who hear and learn. The Father does not force anyone to hear or learn. Men have free-will. God does not impute faith into a few so they will believe and be saved. Faith does not come by injection. HOW DO MEN HEAR AND LEARN? Romans 10:13-14 for "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? Men need to hear the gospel before they can learn and believe. The Father draws men by the gospel. Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Faith comes from hearing the gospel. Faith does not come because the Father selected a chosen few, before the world began, to be saved. All who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior are the chosen and that includes whoever accepts God's terms for pardon. Faith does not come because of irresistible grace. God the Father draws men to Jesus with the gospel. Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek, IT IS THE GOSPEL THAT DRAWS MEN TO JESUS! IRRESISTIBLE GRACE IS NOT THE METHOD THAT THE FATHER USES TO DRAW MEN TO JESUS. Romans 10:21 But as for Israel He says, "All the day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and obstinate people." Israel as a nation reject the gospel. How would that be possible if irresistible grace were in play? Israel turned away from God. Matthew 23:37 "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Jerusalem was unwilling to be drawn to Jesus by believing the gospel. They had a choice. John 5:39-40 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; 40 and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. The Jews had the opportunity to believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, but they were unwilling. There was no irresistible grace in play. The Father draws all who are willing to believe the gospel. John 6:40 This is the will of My Father, thateveryone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." IF YOU ARE READING THIS BLOG YOU ARE ONE OF THE "EVERYONE" WHO HAS A CHANCE TO BE BELIEVE THE GOSPEL AND BE SAVED. MEN REJECT GOD. GOD DOES NOT REJECT MEN DUE TO NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN. THE FATHER DRAWS MEN TO JESUS THROUGH THE PREACHING OF THE GOSPEL. MEN ARE NOT DRAWN TO JESUS BECAUSE THEY WERE PRESELECTED FOR SALVATION! Ask the priest
Confession of sins

What means that the power of sin is the law?

13 noi 2011 | ora 15.33 Doctrine | Priest Vasile Filat

Question:

Please, explain to me the phrase “the power of sin is the law”. Thank you.

Apostle Paul made this statement in his First Epistle to Corinthians, when he addressed the subject of resurrection from the dead. He wrote as follows:

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. (1 Corinthians 15:56)

In this passage there is no other reference to the law, that’s why it is hard to understand what means here that the power of sin is the law. However in the Scripture it is written that no prophecy from the Bible is explained by itself. Every Bible text, including prophesies can be understood in the context of the whole Bible. Therefore, to understand what means that the power of sin is the law, we must make reference to the Epistle to Romans, chapter 7, where the Apostle explains how sin relates to the law, i.e. to the Old Testament Law, given by Moses to the people of Israel. So, I will highlight what it says in Romans chapter 7 as the explanation of why the power of sin is the law.

The Law arouses the sinful passions

Sin dwells in our flesh and it is corrupted by sin. The Law arouses the sinful passions, as it is written:

For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were aroused by the Law, were at workinthe members of our body to bear fruit for death. (Romans 7:5)(NASB)

Once I read about a poisonous plant from a botanical garden. It lived there many years and there was no warning for visitors that it would be poisonous. One day the administration realized how dangerous it was and decided to put a warning, lest anyone ate from that plant by mistake. And what do you think? Next year 11 people died. They just were curious. The Bible says that it is so with the Old Testament Law, it arouses the sinful passions which are at work in the members of every man’s body to bear fruit for death.

Sin takes the opportunity from the Law

Apostle Paul continued:

What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, “YOU SHALL NOT COVET.” But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me coveting of every kind; for apart from the Law sin is dead. I was once alive apartfrom the Law; but when the commandment came, sin became alive and I died; and this commandment, which wasto result in life, provedto result in death for me. (Romans 7:7-10)(NASB)

The Law is that what defines what is good and what is evil, what is righteousness and what is sin. Therefore, the law itself is good, but our sinful nature, since it finds out what is sinful wants to practice sin and thus, sin uses the Law as an opportunity.

Through the law sin deceives us to kill

This is what the Word writes on this topic:

For sin, taking an opportunitythrough the commandment, deceived me and through it killed me. (Romans 7:11)

So …

Sin uses the Law to effect our death

So then, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. Therefore did that which is good become a cause of death for me?May it never be! Rather it was sin, in order that it might be shown to be sin by effecting my death through that which is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful.  (Romans 7:12-13)(NASB)

Next we are told …

Personal testimony of the Apostle Paul

To understand how the law is the power of sin, the Apostle Paul shows us how it had worked in his life until he became a Christian.

For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that the Law is good. So now, no longer am I the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not. Forthe good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want. But if I am doing the very thing I do not want,I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me. I find thentheprinciple that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good. For I joyfully concur with the law of Godinthe inner man, but I seea different law inthe members of my body, waging war against thelaw of my mind and making me a prisonerofthe law of sin which is in my members.Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free fromthe body of thisdeath? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my fleshthe law of sin. (Romans 7:14-25)(NASB)

It was a state of despair and Apostle found himself wretched in this state and it seemed impossible for a man to come out of this state with his own power. Do you find yourself wretched in this desperate state?

Victory over sin can be accomplished only in Christ Jesus

Here’s how the Apostle Paul presents us this victory:

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that therequirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, whodo not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1-4)(NASB)

Everyone who lives in sin and is the slave of sin must understand that if he tries to follow the Old Testament law he will not manage this, because the law provides no power, and sin uses this law to make us even more evil. Victory over the sinful nature is possible only in Jesus Christ and only through faith in Him we receive forgiveness for all our sins and inherit eternal life with all the saints. The commandment of the Law is fulfilled only in those who have the Holy Spirit and live according to the Holy Spirit. God help us all to live according to the Holy Spirit.
