How to protect yourself from accidental access to pornography on the Internet?

Now I am in Surduc, where, together with athletes from Moldova, Romania and the USA, we practice sports and learn how to share the Gospel through sports. In the morning we study the course “How to Know if God is Your Father” which is taught by Mia and Costel Oglice, the directors of the Precept Ministries mission for Eurasia and exceptional teachers of God’s Word. Every afternoon I teach all these young people from the book of the Proverbs of Solomon. Today we talked about the danger of immorality and stopped to talk more about the danger of pornographic images on the Internet and how to protect yourself from them. The righteous Job writes in the book that bears his name:

“I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I look at a virgin? (Job 31:1 NASB)

If you are aware of how important it is to protect your mind from the poison of immorality that is on the Internet and beyond, and if you want to maintain your integrity in an immoral world, as Job decided in his day, you are advised to follow these practical tips:

1.Set your Google search engine account to not view pages with indecent content

If you use the Google search engine, which is rightly considered the most effective and relevant, I think you already know how to make your own settings so that you don’t accidentally access pages with immoral and indecent content. 2.Install and set up the FoxFilter plugin for Firefox

I use the Firefox browser and I urge all my friends to use this browser which is especially good and effective for searching the Internet. Today, one of the guys I taught a lesson about the Internet and the Christian Life came to me at the end and asked me how he could set up his Firefox browser to prevent accidental access to pornographic pages. I found this plug-in and it seems to be quite effective.

3.Quickly apply the Alt + F4 key combination

This combination is a universal one that closes almost all programs for Windows and Linux. So, when you accidentally open a web page with indecent or pornographic content, apply this key combination to close the program and then open it again, but never access the Internet address again. Another alternative would be to just close that page, or that Tab in the Firefox browser. To do this, apply the CTRL + W key combination.

Remember that pornography poisons your mind and will destroy your life. “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23 NASB)
