I would like to understand what it says in Luke 23:28-31.<\/em>\u00a0I can not understand why Jesus said it is blessed (happier) to be barren?<\/em>\u00a0I can not understand, or maybe I have not taken something into account.<\/em> And I can not understand verses 30 and 31, as well.<\/em> Please, help me to understand.<\/em> Thank you!<\/em> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Before I will give the explanation, let\u2019s see what the passage says \u2026<\/p>\n

The Gospel of Luke 23:28-31<\/h2>\n

But Jesus turning to them said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, stop weeping for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For behold, the days are coming when they will say, \u2018Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed. “Then they will begin TO SAY TO THE MOUNTAINS, \u2018FALL ON US,\u2019 AND TO THE HILLS, \u2018COVER US.\u2019 For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry?” (Luke 23:28-31)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Lord Jesus was referring here to the destruction of Jerusalem, that was very close. The Savior said that “blessed are the barren\u201d, i.e. women who have not been able to give birth to children, because when Jerusalem will be besieged, their eyes will see the suffering and death of their dear children. <\/p>\n

This prophecy about the suffering of the people of Israel also refers to the period of tribulation that will come upon this nation when the Antichrist<\/a> will reign on this earth.<\/p>\n

When he speaks of the “dry tree” Jesus Christ refers again to the people of Israel who have not recognized their Messiah and did not bring fruit worthy of repentance, and because of this, this great evil will come upon them.<\/p>\n
