\nIs it a sin for a Christian to work as a singer in a restaurant?<\/em>\u00a0I\u2019m disabled and want to choose my profession.<\/em> I can not do anything with my fingers, because I had a trauma at the age of 17 years.<\/em> But I was able to study music until that age and I can sing beautifully.<\/em> Singing is better paid in restaurants.<\/em>\u00a0Now I sing in the church and when I asked what to do, they told me to do as my heart told me.<\/em>\u00a0But I wonder, can I sing songs like “All women are immoral” in the evening and then sing “Hallelujah<\/em>” in the morning? But on the other hand, when we are sick we see the best doctors, or when we go to court, we are looking for the best lawyers, and to rest well we go to professional artists and performers.<\/em> How does God look at this situation?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
I\u2019m sorry to hear about the trauma that you have had and I pray that God may give you joy, happiness and wisdom how to use the skills that He has given you.<\/p>\n
Beware of evil<\/h4>\n
Every song has a message to send and a Christian can not sing songs with messages that are contrary to the Gospel. Then, if in these restaurants these kind of songs are sung, be sure that other bad and immoral things follow them. God tells us clearly:<\/p>\n
\nAbstain from every form of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
And it adds:<\/p>\n
\nFor this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you<\/sup>abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion, like the Gentiles who do not know God. Use your knowledge and talents to proclaim the Gospel<\/h4>\n
If you took music courses and if God gave you such a beautiful talent to sing, use it for the proclamation of the Gospel. Perhaps it would be better to work in a Christian restaurant or a cafe and sing about God\u2019s love.<\/p>\n
In the city of Krasnoyarsk a Christian lady opened a Christian restaurant and named it “Seven loaves” and many people come to eat there. The business is growing quickly and she already has four such restaurants in the city. It would be great for a Christian singer to work in this restaurant and tell people the Gospel message continuously through the song she sings.<\/p>\n
Another option is to begin to teach others to sing and at the same time to teach them the Scriptures. Last week I talked with a Christian who started guitar courses and he teaches the Bible to all his students, using the inductive Bible study courses. Thus he makes disciples of Jesus Christ. You can do the same. May God guide you and give you a rich fruit for His kingdom.<\/p>\n
