Good evening, I have a question, namely: are people with disabilities baptized if they are unable to decide for themselves, and at what age are they baptized?<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I do not know what religion you are referring to and I do not know how each denomination proceeds. I wanted to write on this site what God teaches us in His Word. The basic principle remains unchanged. When He gave the apostles the Great Commission, Jesus said to them:<\/p>\n

\n

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved<\/strong>; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.\u201c (Mark 16:15-16)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Baptism should follow the faith. And this very clearly said by Philip when he was asked by the Ethiopian eunuch:<\/p>\n

Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. As they went along the road they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look! Water! What prevents me from being baptized<\/strong>?” And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may<\/strong>.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”] And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. (Acts 8:35-38)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Any man can be baptized only if he has believed in the Lord Jesus and confesses it with his mouth.<\/p>\n

\"O<\/p>\n

The Bible does not mention any special circumstances about the baptism<\/strong> of a person with disabilities who can not decide by herself. The principle remains the same. If a person does not believe and confess her faith in Jesus Christ can not receive baptism.<\/em><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there are many physically healthy people, but spiritually disabled and they never get to believe the truth of the Gospel and do not want to understand it.<\/p>\n

Regarding this question, I remembered a case that the bishop of the Baptist Church Union in Tajikistan, Alexander Vervai, told me. A Christian old woman from the church that he was ministering, had lost her memory. He went to visit her and asked her if she could recognize her children, him, other people that were there and she did not know anyone. But when he asked her if she knew the Lord Jesus, her face shone and she said she knew and loved her Savior.<\/p>\n
