Question:<\/span> <\/p>\n I read one\u00a0message from\u00a0Kyrgyzstan and I found that their number one\u00a0priority now is life<\/em><\/span>.<\/em><\/span> I wonder what should we as Christians do if\u00a0a massive war conflict begins in our country?<\/em><\/span> What should\u00a0the priority be?<\/em><\/span> What to do, to sit quietly in homes, to pray, or \u2026?<\/em><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n I will build my\u00a0response following the advice that Apostle Paul gave to Titus when he left him on Crete to organize\u00a0the church.<\/span> Here\u2019s what he said that Titus had to teach Christians there:<\/span> <\/p>\n Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed,\u00a0to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men.\u00a0For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.\u00a0But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,\u00a0He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,\u00a0whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,\u00a0so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.\u00a0This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>(Titus 3:1-8)(NASB)<\/span> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n So, both in times of peace and war\u00a0God expects from us\u00a0the following:<\/span> <\/p>\n 1.<\/span> <\/span>Obedience to authorities<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n To be subject to rulers and authorities\u00a0in what is\u00a0right, that means in\u00a0everything that\u00a0does not\u00a0come in conflict with God\u2019s will written on the pages of the Scripture.<\/span> The same verse tells us that we\u00a0must be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and ready\u00a0for every\u00a0good deed.<\/span> <\/p>\n Warning!<\/span>\u00a0Some people have a bad habit to invent different \u201csacred\u201d reasons\u00a0in order to excuse their indifference or\u00a0fear and they\u00a0evade from their responsibility as a citizen.<\/span> <\/p>\n Close to Collegeville, Tennessee, USA, I visited a military memorial and when I saw\u00a0something there, tears welled in my eyes. <\/span>There was a monument dedicated to those who\u00a0did not take the gun for religious reasons, but they rescued the wounded on the battlefield, serving them under\u00a0bullets and risking their own lives.<\/span>\u00a0On the memorial board there were written\u00a0beautiful words of gratitude at them and they\u00a0were called double heroes, because\u00a0they had\u00a0the same risk and, perhaps greater, without being able to defend themselves with guns.<\/span> <\/p>\n 2.<\/span> <\/span>To bring love and peace<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n In time of war there is very much hatred and conflict.<\/span> The Scripture exhorts us not to malign\u00a0anyone, not to be ready to fight, but to be peaceable and show consideration\u00a0to all people.<\/span> <\/p>\n 3.<\/span> <\/span>To meet the greatest need<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n In war there are many needs and they grow day by day.<\/span> Someone is hungry, another one is thirsty, someone has lost his father, husband, children, etc.<\/span> People are in need of consolation and encouragement.<\/span>\u00a0But let us not forget that the greatest need is for SALVATION.<\/span> Therefore, let us\u00a0use every opportunity to proclaim Jesus Christ to all people.<\/span> And if we do not have opportunities, create them yourself and talk to people.<\/span> <\/p>\n 4.<\/span> <\/span>Take initiative<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n Indifference is not compatible with the call and the name of a Christian.<\/span> We are called to be the foremost in good deeds.<\/span> In no way it\u00a0is suitable for a Christian to quietly stay in the house when\u00a0war is outside.<\/span> We must save the wounded, to evacuate those who are subjected to danger, to give a help to those who need it and by everything we do to save lives.<\/span> <\/p>\n 5.<\/span> <\/span>Pray for peace<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n When there is war in the country we should\u00a0pray for peace.<\/span> If we have peace in the country we should\u00a0thank God and not accept it as something that we deserve.<\/span> We should continually pray for peace as God teaches us:<\/span> <\/p>\n First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men,\u00a0for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.\u00a0This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,\u00a0who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>(1 Timothy 2:1-4)(NASB)<\/span> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Let us\u00a0use the peace that God gives us to preach the Gospel to all people.<\/span> <\/p>\n Let us pray now for our Christian brothers and everyone in Kyrgyzstan so that\u00a0God would save their lives\u00a0and bring back peace.<\/span> <\/p>\n Translated by Felicia Rotaru<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Question: I read one\u00a0message from\u00a0Kyrgyzstan and I found that their number one\u00a0priority now is life.
