class=\"hps\">Why do<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Christians<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">find it<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">so hard<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to pray<\/span><span>?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full img-resp\" title=\"rugaciune\" src=\"http:\/\/www.speranta-ct.ro\/userfiles\/hands.jpg\" alt=\"rugaciune\"><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">When I<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">looked up<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to see what<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Scripture<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">says<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">about prayer<\/span><span>, I found<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">many<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">verses<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">that speak of<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">prayer<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">as<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">something that<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">you should be<\/span> devoted to<span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\">\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\">&#8230;rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\">(Romans 12:12)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\">The v<span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">erb<\/span> to be devoted is <span class=\"hps\">in the present tense<\/span> a <span class=\"hps\">present that<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">indicates a<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">continuous<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and active state.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">So<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">prayer is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">activity to which we should be devoted<\/span><span>.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">The more<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">you pray<\/span><span>, the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">more you know<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">how to pray<\/span><span>.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">The reasons why<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Christians find it<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">so hard<\/span> to pray are <span class=\"hps\">varied<\/span><span>.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">But let&#8217;s<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">discuss a few<\/span><span>:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\"><span lang=\"en\"><span><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><strong><span class=\"hps\">They do not know<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">how to pray<\/span><\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">Often<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">believers do not<\/span> take <span class=\"hps atn\">&#8220;the risk<\/span><span>&#8220;<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to pray<\/span><span>, because<\/span> they<span class=\"hps\"> do not know<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">how to pray<\/span><span>, they were not<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">taught to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">pray or<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">think<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">they must have<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">some<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">special gift<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to pray<\/span><span>.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Prayer is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">an appeal<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to God<\/span><span>.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">I advise you<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to<\/span><span class=\"hps\"> study<\/span><span>, &#8220;Lord<\/span><span>, teach<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">me to pray<\/span><span>.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Although it is a<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">children&#8217;s<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">study<\/span> it <span class=\"hps\">is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">very practical<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">for adults, too.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\"><span lang=\"en\"><span><span lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\"><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><strong><span class=\"hps\">A spiritual<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">problem<\/span><\/strong> <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">Often<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">if their relationship<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">with God is not<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">good<\/span><span>, people<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">do not want<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">pray.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">People<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in such<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">cases,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">say<\/span><span>:<\/span> <span class=\"hps atn\">&#8220;I am<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in a state<\/span> I <span class=\"hps\">can not even<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">open the<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Bible<\/span><span>,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">I can not even<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">pray<\/span><span>.&#8221;<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Prayer and<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Scripture is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a form of communication<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">with God.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">If this<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">communication<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">is interrupted<\/span><span>, we cannot<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">talk about<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">a relationship.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">In fact<\/span><span>,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">your attitude<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">towards prayer<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">shows what<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">relationship<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">you have with<\/span> God.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\"><span lang=\"en\"><span><span lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\"><span lang=\"en\"><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">Fear of<\/span> praying in <span class=\"hps\">public<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"hps\">I guess<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">the question<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">is more about<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">praying<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in church.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">Many<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">do not pray<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in public<\/span><span>, because<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">they are afraid<\/span><span>.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">They think<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">you must have<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">some<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">oratorical<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">skills<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to pray<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">in church,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">but God&#8217;s Word<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">does not teach<\/span> us this way<span class=\"hps\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\">\n<p><span lang=\"en\"><span><span class=\"verse v12\"><span class=\"content\"><span lang=\"en\"><span><span lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\"><span lang=\"en\"><span lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\"><span class=\"verse v7\"><span class=\"wj\"><span class=\"content\">&#8220;And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. <\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"verse v8\"><span class=\"wj\"><span class=\"content\">So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. (Matthew 6:7-8)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"hps\">It is important to<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">pray<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">simply,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">honestly<\/span><span>, from the heart<\/span><span>,<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">and<\/span> not <span class=\"hps\">oratoricaly<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to impress.<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">It is not right<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">to be concerned with what<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">others will think<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">about me<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">when I pray<\/span><span>.<\/span> This kind of t<span class=\"hps\">hinking is<\/span> <span class=\"hps\">totally wrong<\/span><span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\">\n<p><span class=\"verse v18\"><span class=\"content\">With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, <\/span><\/span><span class=\"verse v19\"><span class=\"content\">and <\/span><span class=\"it\"><span class=\"content\">pray<\/span><\/span><span class=\"content\"> on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. (Ephesians 6:18-19)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0So in order to be able to pray we need to keep it in view and be on the alert.
