What do you think about yoga?<\/em> Is this a good practice for the body?<\/em> I often had proposals to try to practice yoga, but I hesitated \u2026 Will it be pleasing\u00a0God?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yoga<\/a> draws its origins\u00a0from the religious practices of Hinduism and later it was also taken\u00a0over\u00a0in Buddhism, Jainism and even Sufism\u00a0of Islam\u00a0practices it\u00a0in some forms.<\/p>\n

\"Yogis<\/p>\n

The term \u201cyoga\u201d in Sanskrit means \u201ccontrol\u201d, \u201cabstinence\u201d or \u201cunity.\u201dYoga is one of the six basic schools of Hinduism, and is a complex system based on transcendental meditation.\u00a0Meditation is nothing but\u00a0the concentration of one\u2019s thinking and it is not bad up to a certain level.Moreover, all of us\u00a0need to focus our thinking on certain tasks, either at work or at home or when we study the Scriptures or pray.The problem with Yoga meditation\u00a0is that it is transcendental, that means it is a meditation through which one concentrates his thinking\u00a0to divinity, to what exceeds the limits of creation.\u00a0And if it does\u00a0not\u00a0worship the true God, then this meditation becomes idolatry, when\u00a0people create idols for themselves in their mind or\u00a0take them\u00a0from\u00a0other people, or religious systems, etc. When I was in Nepal where Hinduism is the religion of the majority,\u00a0from what I was told, I\u00a0was counting that for every citizen of the\u00a0country were\u00a015 gods, or idols. And the most widespread idols are meditating in yoga position \u2026<\/p>\n

\"Yoga<\/p>\n

The branch of Yoga, that\u00a0is widespread in the western world is\u00a0Hatha Yoga and it is based on breathing exercises, asanas (i.e those different positions) and transcendental meditation.Although most people are passionate about physical exercises in Yoga,\u00a0there\u00a0is a great danger of slipping down the slope of transcendental meditation which in essence is to worship idols.<\/p>\n

I recommend in this regard to get\u00a0the book of Rabi Maharaj \u201cThe death of a Guru\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n
