Please explain to us the texts from the book of Revelation 7:14 and 13:7. My question is: who are those \u00a0described in chapter 7 and 13? Thank you.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Both texts tell about people who are from “every tribe and people and tongue and nation”<\/strong>. Those from chapter 7 are the Church of God and stand before the throne in heaven in the period of the great tribulation, but those from chapter 13 are the\u00a0unbelievers who are on the earth in the period of the great tribulation (time in which the antichrist will reign on the earth, ie the beast from chapter 13 and the little horn from the book of Daniel chapter 7).<\/p>\n

Though, many have a\u00a0question: are the people from the book of Revelation 7:14, who are described as\u00a0coming from the great tribulation, the same people who are described in chapter 13:7 and will live in the time of the reign of the beast? In other words: Will the Church be on the Earth in the time of the reign of the beast?<\/p>\n

To\u00a0better understand the answer to this question, let us look at these verses in their context to\u00a0find out more about these people:<\/p>\n

Revelation 7:9-17<\/strong>
\nAfter these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from\u00a0every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and\u00a0before the Lamb, clothed in\u00a0white robes, and\u00a0palm branches were\u00a0in their hands;\u00a0and they cry out with a loud voice, saying,\u00a0\u201cSalvation to our God\u00a0who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.\u201d\u00a0And all the angels were standing\u00a0around the throne and\u00a0around\u00a0the elders and the\u00a0four living creatures; and they\u00a0fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,\u00a0saying,\u00a0\u201cAmen,\u00a0blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might,\u00a0be\u00a0to our God forever and ever.\u00a0Amen.\u201d\u00a0Then one of the elders\u00a0answered, saying to me, \u201cThese who are clothed in the\u00a0white robes, who are they, and where have they come from?\u201d\u00a0(14)\u00a0I\u00a0said to him, \u201cMy lord, you know.\u201d And he said to me, \u201cThese are the ones who come out of the\u00a0great tribulation, and they have\u00a0washed their robes and made them white in the\u00a0blood of the Lamb.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0For this reason, they are\u00a0before the throne of God; and they\u00a0serve Him day and night in His\u00a0temple; and\u00a0He who sits on the throne will spread His\u00a0tabernacle over them.They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun\u00a0beat down on them, nor any heat;\u00a0for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their\u00a0shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the\u00a0water of life; and\u00a0God will wipe every tear from their eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Revelation 13:2-9<\/strong>
\nAnd the beast which I saw was\u00a0like a leopard, and his feet were like\u00a0those\u00a0of\u00a0a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of\u00a0a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his\u00a0throne and great authority.\u00a0\u00a0I saw\u00a0one of his heads as if it had been\u00a0slain, and his\u00a0fatal wound was healed. And the whole earth\u00a0was amazed\u00a0and followed\u00a0after the beast;\u00a0\u00a0they worshiped the dragon because he\u00a0gave his authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, \u201cWho is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?\u201d\u00a0There was given to him a mouth\u00a0speaking\u00a0arrogant words and blasphemies, and authority to act for\u00a0forty-two months was given to him.\u00a0And he opened his mouth in blasphemies against God, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle,\u00a0that is,\u00a0those who\u00a0dwell in heaven. (7)\u00a0It was also given to him to\u00a0make war with the\u00a0saints and to overcome them, and authority over\u00a0every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0All who\u00a0dwell on the earth will worship him,\u00a0everyone\u00a0whose name has not been\u00a0written\u00a0from the foundation of the world in the\u00a0book of life of\u00a0the Lamb who has been slain.\u00a0If anyone has an ear, let him hear.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The\u00a0description of the people in chapter 7<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There was a great multitude which no one could count, from\u00a0every nation and\u00a0all\u00a0tribes and peoples and tongues, they were standing before the throne and\u00a0before the Lamb<\/strong>, clothed in\u00a0white robes, and\u00a0palm branches\u00a0were\u00a0in their hands;\u00a0and they cry out with a loud voice and they were praising God;\u00a0the ones who come out of the\u00a0great tribulation, and they have\u00a0washed their robes and made them white in the\u00a0blood of the Lamb,\u00a0<\/strong>they are\u00a0before the throne of God; and they\u00a0serve Him day and night in His\u00a0temple<\/strong><\/span>; and\u00a0He who sits on the throne will spread His\u00a0tabernacle over them.\u00a0They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun\u00a0beat down on them, nor any heat;\u00a0\u00a0for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their\u00a0shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the\u00a0water of life; and\u00a0God will wipe every tear from their eyes;\u00a0the time of the action is after the breaking the sixth seal (Revelation 6:12).<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

From this description we see that this great multitude is the Church of God, who\u00a0through faith in the Lord Jesus were saved from sins and set free from the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10). After the sixth seal, the Church is in heaven, before the beginning of the great tribulation, which will begin only after the sixth seal (Revelation 9-11), in the same time with the victory of the beast over the saints, ie over the people of Israel.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0description of the people in chapter 13<\/strong><\/h3>\n

They were amazed\u00a0and followed\u00a0after the beast;\u00a0they worshiped the dragon because he\u00a0gave his authority to the beast<\/strong><\/span>; the beast and the antichrist reigned over them\u00a0for\u00a0forty-two months (the period of the great tribulation); their<\/strong>\u00a0names have not been\u00a0written\u00a0from the foundation of the world in the\u00a0book of life of\u00a0the Lamb.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As you can see, these people worship the beast and their names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb. According to the book of Revelation chapter 20, the place for those who are not written in the book of life of the Lamb is the\u00a0lake of\u00a0fire which burns with\u00a0brimstone.<\/p>\n

If we do a study of the book of Revelation, we would see that the events described in chapter 7 take place after the breaking of the sixth seal, but the beast\u00a0makes war to the saints and begins to reign after the sound of the sixth seal (Revelation 9-11). The great tribulation begins at\u00a0the same time with the Beast entering\u00a0into Jerusalem (the great tribulation is a period of\u00a0a time, two times and half a time, or 42 months, or 1260 days in which the beast will oppress the saints, ie the people of Israel: the great tribulation is for the people of Israel. Hence, we see that before the beginning of the great tribulation, those, who have\u00a0washed their robes and made them white in the\u00a0blood of the Lamb (ie the Church made of Jews and Gentiles) are in heaven.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let us not forget that every biblical text\u00a0must be interpreted in the context of the whole Bible, and that an\u00a0unclear or obscure text\u00a0may not cancel a lesson clearly revealed in the Bible.<\/p>\n
