Question:<\/p>\n

Since<\/em> I was a child, I went to the\u00a0Gospel Christian Church,<\/a> but as I was going there, many times\u00a0I would\u00a0leave without looking to understand something.<\/em>\u00a0I looked for another\u00a0church until I found one called \u201cThe Salvation Army\u201d. <\/a><\/em>Here, the leaders are very good\u00a0and there is much love around them.<\/em> The problem is that they are\u00a0not baptized,\u00a0but they become “soldiers” instead.<\/em>\u00a0I want to ask if it is possible to be saved without being baptized.<\/em>\u00a0I doubt it and therefore I am determined that if I am\u00a0baptized, I will continue to attend the Gospel Christian Church.<\/em> And I would like to add something: here at the Salvation Army, they have the\u00a0the Lord\u2019s Supper<\/a> but instead of bread they serve something else and still preach the same\u00a0Bible. <\/em>I will wait for\u00a0your advice. Lord bless you and help you in the ministry you are\u00a0doing.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Baptism is the commandment of\u00a0our Savior <\/strong><\/h2>\n

When He gave the apostles the Great Commission, Lord Jesus said to them:<\/p>\n

\u00a0And He said to them, \u201cGo into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.\u00a0He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved;<\/strong> but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.\u00a0(Mark 16:15-16)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The verse says clearly that he\u00a0who has\u00a0believed and had been baptized will be saved. But someone may\u00a0argue and say, \u201cWell, the second part of the verse says that \u201che who has\u00a0disbelieved will be condemned\u201d and it says nothing about baptism, i.e. it\u00a0does not say that he who has not been baptized\u00a0will be condemned. Do you know why?\u00a0Because\u00a0the decision and the request to be baptized is the first evidence that someone has believed\u00a0and has entered into\u00a0a covenant with the Lord Jesus Christ. Moreover, how can anyone claim that he\u00a0chose to live in full obedience to Jesus and refuse to fulfill His first command \u2013 to be baptized?\u00a0If someone does not want to be baptized, it means that he did not\u00a0take a firm decision to become a disciple of Jesus and let him not\u00a0deceive himself. If baptism was not important, Jesus would not have said it and\u00a0the first\u00a0disciples would not have asked those who had believed to be baptized. So, if you believed wholeheartedly in the Lord Jesus and you entered\u00a0a covenant with Him, you must go to the pastor or to the priest and ask to be baptized.<\/p>\n

About The Salvation Army <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Salvation\u00a0Army is a worldwide mission founded in 1865 by William Booth in London. In 1878 they adopted the title \u201cThe Salvation Army\u201d and quasi-military management system. On the official page of The Salvation Army is presented the following quote from Salvation Army Act in 1980: <\/a><\/p>\n

The Salvation Army is an integral part of the Christian Church, although distinctive in government and practice. The Army\u2019s doctrine follows the mainstream of Christian belief and its articles of faith emphasize God\u2019s saving purposes. Its objects are \u2018the advancement of the Christian religion\u2026 of education, the relief of poverty, and other charitable objects beneficial to society or the community of mankind as a whole.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The above definition\u00a0makes clear that the Salvation Army is not a church, but an integral part of the Church and therefore, the Salvation Army does not have the role to perform\u00a0acts of worship. In my understanding, they recruit people from churches who share the same vision and want to\u00a0commit themselves to the same cause of preaching the Gospel in places that\u00a0others reach\u00a0harder.<\/p>\n
