My husband is a Catholic and in their church when\u00a0children are 8 years old they receive the First Communion.<\/em><\/span> This occasion is an\u00a0important feast in the church.<\/span><\/em> I know that the Bible does not teach this and I do not agree for\u00a0my child to receive the first Communion\u00a0at 8 years without being in the covenant with the Lord Jesus.<\/em><\/span> Advise me how to do right!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Talk to your\u00a0spouse<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Try to\u00a0explain him simply and clearly, from the Holy Scriptures, that the Lord\u2019s Supper<\/a> is the sign of the covenant left by the Savior for those who will enter the New Covenant and pay attention to the fact that the child should enter into this covenant through repentance.<\/span> Do not talk to him about the differences and different views that you and your husband\u00a0have\u00a0on this subject\u00a0or that a church is right and another one is not.<\/span> Try to\u00a0help the child understand what is the New Covenant and how one\u00a0can enter it.<\/span> Also explain\u00a0the child what means receiving the\u00a0Lord\u2019s Supper.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The discussion with your\u00a0husband and with the child is the part that\u00a0have to\u00a0do.<\/span> If nothing changes and the husband insists\u00a0that the child receive\u00a0the First Communion\u00a0at 8 years, you have\u00a0no choice but accept the decision of your\u00a0spouse and pray for the salvation of the child and of the husband, to proclaim them the\u00a0Gospel and to tell the\u00a0child the\u00a0sound doctrine of\u00a0God\u2019s Word.<\/span> For this I recommend you to find\u00a0the exceptional\u00a0Bible study books for children as \u201cWrong Way, Jonah<\/em>!\u201d, <\/span>\u201cLord, teach me to pray\u201d and others like them.<\/span> <\/p>\n
