\"Rut<\/span><\/p>\n

The verses in Ruth 4:14-15 are referring to Obed,\u00a0the son of Boaz\u00a0who is Naomi’ s redeemer.\u00a0Up to\u00a0this verse the redeemer\u00a0was Boaz,\u00a0and according with the\u00a0redeemer’s obligations, he\u00a0 redeemed the family and\u00a0 their land. Without a redeemer, Naomi and her family were doomed\u00a0from Israel’s genealogy but because of the redeemer Naomi’s family was spared.<\/span><\/p>\n

The redeemer’s right was transmitted\u00a0from generation to generation.\u00a0Up to v. 4:14 the redeemer is Boaz, but in v. 14-17 Naomi’s redeemer\u00a0becomes Obed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then the women said to Naomi, ” Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a redeemer, and may his name be renowed in Israel! He shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is more to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.” Then Naomi took the child and laid him on her lap and became his nurse. And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David.<\/span><\/p>\n

Naomi was holding Obed on her lap, her redeemer\u00a0and the women said, “Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a redeemer…”<\/span><\/p>\n

Imediately after this Obed’s geneology is\u00a0written down (Ruth 4:18-22).\u00a0 Obed fathered Jesse, and Jesse fathered David, from\u00a0whom Jesus Christ was born in flesh\u00a0(Mathew 1:1-6),\u00a0who redeemed us from our sins and\u00a0as a\u00a0legacy, <\/span>has given us <\/span>eternal life and <\/span>the Kingdom <\/span>of God <\/span>through <\/span>faith <\/span>in Him.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
