\"DemograficIn the past 10 years, the\u00a0population of the Republic of Moldova decreased by an average of 8,000 people a year, which is the equivalent of six villages with about 1.3 thousand inhabitants.<\/span> United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and National Commission\u00a0on Population and Development warns that, for\u00a0medium and long term the consequences of this demographic decline\u00a0are disastrous.<\/span> According to forecasts, by 2050 our population will decrease by one million and by 2130, according to the Vienna Institute of Demography, it may be reduced almost in half, reaching 1.5 million.<\/span> During the school\u00a0year 2007-2008 school quota was reduced by almost 27%\u00a0compared to\u00a0the 2000-2001 school year.<\/span> This means that schools in Moldova has lost every third student.<\/span>Forecasts show that in 2050 every third person in Moldova will be over 65 years, that\u00a0will be retired. Overcoming the demographic crisis should be a priority of the new government and of the entire nation.<\/span> To be able to\u00a0found solutions to overcome this crisis, we need to better understand its causes.<\/span>\u00a0Among the causes named\u00a0most often are\u00a0diseases, poverty and lack of institutions for protecting the population. <\/span>We can not deny all these causes, but they are only consequences of a deeper cause, of the major reasons that caused this demographic crisis.<\/span> This cause is apostasy, or falling away from the Christian faith of our nation, even if\u00a0during the census 95% of citizens declared themselves Christians.<\/span> Let\u2019s see what the Bible says about how apostasy\u00a0affects a nation population.<\/span><\/p>\n

When they were free\u00a0of the Egyptian bondage, after He gave them the holy commandments, God announced\u00a0the people of Israel the blessings\u00a0at the obedience of the commandments and the curses for their rejection.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Now it shall be, if you diligently obey the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.\u00a0All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the LORD your God.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0(Deuteronomy 28:1-2)(NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Among the first blessings to come upon God\u2019s people was this:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Blessed shall be the offspring of your body<\/strong> and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>(Deuteronomy 28:4)(NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And it is also written:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The LORD will make you abound in prosperity, in the offspring of your body<\/strong> and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.<\/span>\u00a0(Deuteronomy 28:11)(NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The second part of chapter 28 is devoted to curses and it\u00a0begins as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

But it shall come about, if you do not obey the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.<\/span><\/span> (Deuteronomy 28:15)(NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And again, among the first in the list of curses is this:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Cursed shall be the offspring of your body<\/strong> and the produce of your ground, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.<\/span><\/span>(Deuteronomy 28:18)(NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Then it is written a long list of diseases\u00a0that were to affect people for their disobedience.<\/span> The press release\u00a0on thia study of\u00a0the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and National Commission on Population and Development\u00a0says:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Mortality index was 11.8 \u2030 in 2008, exceeding that of birth (10.9 \u2030).<\/em><\/span> Great\u00a0differences of the\u00a0mortality rates are recorded in urban and rural areas.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0In\u00a0the beginning\u00a0of\u00a02000 the village population mortality exceeded with 60-65% the same\u00a0indicator in the city.<\/em><\/span> The gender gap in mortality rates increases.<\/em><\/span> In the group aged 25-39 years die 3 times more men than women, and in the 40-69 age group twice more. <\/em><\/span>Morbidity (frequency of illnesses and diseases in society): Among death causes, cardiovascular disease is the primacy, a trend that continues to grow.<\/em><\/span> For comparison, if in the industry-developed countries this indicator is 30-40% of all mortality, then in Moldova more than half the number of deaths occurs due to these diseases.<\/em><\/span> The second cause of death is tumors, especially\u00a0for women with cancer of the mammary gland.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And this happens in the XXI century, when medicine became so advanced?<\/span> Yes, because\u00a0the words of\u00a0God remain just as current and with the same power:<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Then you shall be left few in number<\/strong>, whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not obey the LORD your God.<\/strong>\u00a0It shall come about that as the LORD delighted over you to prosper you, and multiply you, so the LORD will delight over you to make you perish and destroy you; and you will be torn from the land<\/strong> where you are entering to possess it. (Deuteronomy 28:62-63)(NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Teaching the Bible in all schools and at all levels is an imperative.<\/span> Preaching the message of the Holy Scriptures by all mass media means\u00a0is an emergency.<\/span> Only in this way people will be able to return to God wholeheartedly and only so we can be saved as a nation overcoming\u00a0the demographic crisis.<\/span> God help the new government to understand this profound truth and take appropriate action.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each of us must take action.<\/span>\u00a0If you do not have the discipline in your family\u00a0to study the Bible every day, start today.<\/span> If you are a teacher, begin to teach the Bible to\u00a0the disciples that you have.<\/span> If you are a coach, begin to teach the Bible before you start training.<\/span> If you are a journalist, start writing about the value of the Bible and reflect the events about which you write in the light of the Bible.<\/span> If you do not have Bible study materials, write me and I\u00a0will recommend you some.<\/span><\/p>\n
