{"id":56720,"date":"2009-08-18T11:03:36","date_gmt":"2009-08-18T09:03:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/moldovacrestina.md\/do-not-turn-the-country-into-trash"},"modified":"2017-05-27T09:02:11","modified_gmt":"2017-05-27T07:02:11","slug":"do-not-turn-the-country-into-trash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/moldovacrestina.md\/en\/do-not-turn-the-country-into-trash\/","title":{"rendered":"Do not turn the country into trash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p><span>This summer on a Sunday, when we went\u00a0with the church\u00a0at a picnic in the park that is near <span>the\u00a0motor cross route<\/span>, we were so sorry <a href=\"https:\/\/moldovacrestina.md\/en\/why-people-dont-clean-up-the-place-where-they-have-picnicked\/\">to see the\u00a0trash people had left there, <\/a>so we could not find a clean place.<\/span>\u00a0<span>We picked the\u00a0garbage\u00a0left by others and then we\u00a0could\u00a0sit there.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span>Also this summer, I went to visit the camp organized by the\u00a0\u201dClean Generation\u201d\u00a0<u><font color=\"#0000ff\">youth movement<\/font><\/u> which took place near the village Speia\u00a0close to\u00a0the Nistru river. <\/span><span>It is a very beautiful place and at the entrance into the camp I was very impressed to see how beautiful and clean everything was arranged.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tabara Generatiei Curate la Speia in 2009\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2652\/3780349632_7f13358ba0.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter size-full img-resp\"><\/p>\n<p><span>When\u00a0I went with my wife\u00a0to admire the Nistru river, we saw rubbish everywhere, most of which were empty or broken\u00a0glass and plastic bottles.<\/span> <span>I thought what might happen if we continued like this and what kind of country we would leave\u00a0our children.<\/span>\u00a0<span>I once visited\u00a0such country. <\/span><span>I do not want to tell\u00a0its name, but I am afraid of ending up like\u00a0this country\u00a0soon.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Tara poluata cu deseuri\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2492\/3806963972_1072352e7c.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter size-full img-resp\"><\/p>\n<h4><span>It has been\u00a0different before<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span><span class=\"google-src-text\">I and my wife<\/span>\u00a0recalled\u00a0that it had not been so\u00a0before.<\/span>\u00a0<span>One reason is that there were not so many single-use foodservice products as now. <\/span><span>People were using glass\u00a0dishes and after consuming the contents of the dishes, took them home to sell them. <\/span><span>When I was a kid and went to buy lemonade, I always took empty bottles to the store and they gave me in exchange full ones.<\/span>\u00a0<span>There was\u00a0a place of collecting empty bottles in every village and it was a means to earn money for children who went everywhere and sought empty bottles to sell.<\/span> <\/p>\n<h4>\n<span>There is not an adequate education<\/span> <\/h4>\n<p><span>As\u00a0a Taekwon-Do coach, each\u00a0summer I organized camps in tents in the woods.<\/span> <span>Once, when we were in the forest near the village Ivancea, we had to\u00a0walk from where the camp was to the place where I\u00a0gave training\u00a0and we were passing along the local lake.<\/span> <span>From the first day, when\u00a0we saw that many people\u00a0left much trash on the shore, we decided to collect them all and so to give\u00a0my disciples a lesson and to keep the country clean.<\/span> <span>Every day after training, on the way to the camp, each\u00a0one was picking the trash\u00a0and\u00a0we dug a deep hole in the camp to bury it (it was not the best solution, but we did not have\u00a0a better one). When we returned\u00a0after two or three training sessions, the shores of the lake\u00a0remained clean and beautiful, without waste.<\/span> <span>But what a great disappointment we\u00a0had, when after\u00a0weekend people left that place worse than it had been\u00a0before we\u00a0cleaned it.<\/span>\u00a0<span>We chose to collect the waste even in their presence, without telling them anything, thinking they\u00a0will take a lesson from it.<\/span>\u00a0<span>We hoped that at least some of them would learn it.<\/span> <span>But I wonder why people of all ages in our country are so indifferent to the beautiful nature of the country that God gave us?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Vase de plastic si de sticla aruncate in padure (unele sparte)\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3453\/3779539553_a360af564f.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter size-full img-resp\"><\/p>\n<p><span>When\u00a0I write this article, I\u2019m in an Arabian country, where there is only dust and desert around, it\u2019s rarely when you see one small shrub covered with dust that is\u00a0hardly recognized.<\/span> <span>I think, what\u00a0blessed country God gave us and how\u00a0indifferent we are towards it.<\/span> <\/p>\n<h4>\n<span>What to do?<\/span> <\/h4>\n<p><span>In my opinion, these actions are very compelling and urgent:<\/span> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<span>To introduce a\u00a0\u201dNature protection\u201d course in schools.<\/span> <span>I suppose that there is such an education course\u00a0included in the Natural Sciences and Civic Education classes, but if does not bring change in the country, it means that it is ineffective and therefore, it has to be\u00a0reviewed.<\/span> <span>It would be good if the first educational\u00a0class\u00a0on September 1 will\u00a0be devoted to this great need and then, after the lesson, all children will\u00a0go and collect the waste around the school and in their localities. I<\/span><span>n this way the lesson will have a practical application and students will not forget it.<\/span> <\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Do not leave trash after you leave.<\/span> <span>In order\u00a0a change to take place in the country\u00a0each of us has to start by himself or herself.<\/span>\u00a0<span>In this way we will give examples worth following for our children and all other people who\u00a0know us.<\/span> <\/li>\n<li>\n<span>Organize campaigns and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/generatiacurata\/?fref=ts\">organizations<\/a> of volunteers\u00a0to collect\u00a0the\u00a0garbage and clean\u00a0the public places.<\/span>\u00a0<span>It is not so\u00a0complicated and it can be a beautiful experience for the church, class, group at the University,\u00a0sports team, or\u00a0just your friends group.<\/span> <\/li>\n<li>\n<span>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-democracy.md\/en\/elections\/parliamentary\/20092\/opponents\/pemave\/\">Ecological\u00a0Party\u00a0\u201cAlianta Verde\u201d (Green Alliance)\u201d<\/a> did not pass the threshold of representation and on the background of the major policy issues in the country, the subject\u00a0they\u00a0dealt with\u00a0seems to be frivolous.<\/span> <span>However, politicians have to address this issue urgently and to enact legislation that would protect the environment from pollution or excessive waste that is increasing every day.<\/span> <\/li>\n<li>\n<span>To exempt from taxes\u00a0factories dealing with recycling.<\/span>\u00a0<span>I do not know if there\u00a0are\u00a0such factories\u00a0in our country at the moment, but the other day I saw a recycle bin\u00a0near the city\u00a0that collected separately plastics and it makes me think that there is already such a factory.<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"lada cu sticle din plastic adunate separat in chisinau la gunoiste\" src=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2567\/3790743403_a09aec5383.jpg\" class=\"aligncenter size-full img-resp\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<span>From what I\u2019ve seen, there are four general categories of\u00a0trash that requires special recycling factories. <\/span><span>The waste that does not\u00a0decompose, in my opinion, can be divided into four categories: 1) plastics and polyethylene, 2) glass, 3) metal and 4) paper. <\/span><span>Because there are many who collect scrap metal, less metal waste can be found now.<\/span>\u00a0<span>If the waste\u00a0of other categories will\u00a0be also collected for recycling, it will be a very good solution.<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>\n<span>Do not despise the gift of God<\/span> <\/h4>\n<p><span>When he preached\u00a0to the Athenian in Areopagus, the Apostle Paul said:<\/span> <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\">\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands;\u00a0nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things;\u00a0and <strong>He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation,\u00a0that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us<\/strong>;\u00a0for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, \u2018For we also are His children.\u2019\u00a0\u201dBeing then the children of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and thought of man.\u00a0\u201dTherefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,\u00a0because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.\u201d (Acts 17:24-31)(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span>In His love, God gave us a land of paradise and everyone who will go to visit other countries of the world will admit this thing.<\/span>\u00a0<span>Do not despise the gift of God, so that\u00a0our boundaries may not be reduced, but\u00a0let us turn to Him with all our hearts and\u00a0be His good children and good administrators of the goods we have received from Him.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><span>What solutions to this national problem does\u00a0the reader of this portal see and apply?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p><em>Translated by Felicia Rotaru<\/em><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This summer on a Sunday, when we went\u00a0with the church\u00a0at a picnic in the park that is near the\u00a0motor cross route, we were so sorry to see the\u00a0trash people had left there, so we could not find a clean place.\u00a0We picked the\u00a0garbage\u00a0left by others and then we\u00a0could\u00a0sit there.
