I am married and I received the baptism in accordance with the teaching of the New Testament\u00a0one year after my marriage.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0My<\/em> husband\u00a0says that he is\u00a0an Orthodox Christian\u2026 We have godparents who have waited a child for many years and God gave them a wonderful boy.<\/em><\/span> They<\/em> invited us to christening party.\u00a0<\/em><\/span>Knowing that I disagree with the baptism of the\u00a0child, they\u00a0insist on my coming to the restaurant, other way\u00a0they consider it\u00a0a lack of respect from me.<\/em><\/span> My husband says he will go alone if I refuse.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0What to do<\/em>\u00a0in this situation?<\/em><\/span>\u00a0I do not want my faith to be a burden to others if they believe that\u00a0I do not\u00a0respect them if I do not go to the\u00a0christening party.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The godparents\u00a0<\/span>proceed according to\u00a0their belief\u00a0and if you do not go to their celebration, they will certainly take it as ignorance and disrespect.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you go to the christening party, you will have the opportunity to tell people who will be\u00a0at this celebration what writes the New Testament about baptism,<\/a><\/span> why\u00a0you chose to be baptized\u00a0when\u00a0you believed\u00a0in the Lord Jesus and repented\u00a0and how\u00a0important\u00a0faith for our salvation is.<\/span><\/p>\n

I suggest you to read attentively the basic texts of the Scripture that speak\u00a0on this subject, as to be well documented for any discussions you may have there.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, beware of\u00a0any quarrel or misunderstanding and\u00a0speak only to those who wish to listen and understand.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, if you do not go, everyone will understand that you\u2019ve ignored them and\u00a0this is the way the\u00a0faith in the Lord Jesus teaches you, which is not true.<\/span>\u00a0If you go to the\u00a0baptism party\u00a0and do\u00a0not tell anyone anything about what you\u00a0believe, no one\u00a0will find out\u00a0about your beliefs. And if you go and tell people what\u2019s written in the New Testament regarding baptism and salvation, if not all, at least\u00a0those who are interested will want to\u00a0know more how to be saved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why to loose such\u00a0a good opportunity to tell your relatives and friends about the Lord Jesus?<\/span><\/p>\n
