I have a question\u00a0and I have not found the\u00a0answer to it and\u00a0I want\u00a0very much\u00a0to know if what I do is in accordance\u00a0with\u00a0the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ.<\/em>\u00a0Since childhood, my grandmother, God rest her in peace,\u00a0taught me\u00a0to pray to God, for which\u00a0I am\u00a0grateful and will be grateful\u00a0until I close my eyes, too.<\/em> Through the prayers\u00a0I learned from her, our Lord Jesus Christ and God helped me to come home healthy from the revolution\u00a0in 1989\u00a0from Bucharest (where I was in the military service) and I received help when He was the only one in whom I could hope.<\/em> I am an instructor of Aikido,<\/a> a fighting art or to say it\u00a0more modern, a\u00a0Japanese martial art.<\/em>\u00a0We fight without actually destroying or\u00a0wounding\u00a0the partner.<\/em>\u00a0But there\u00a0is a\u00a0habit in Aikido<\/a> to welcome\u00a0the place where the photo of\u00a0the inventor of this art is placed at the beginning and end of training.<\/em> Many times<\/span>\u00a0I do this greeting to\u00a0maestro Morihei Uieshiba\u00a0feeling a pang of guilt\u00a0and often I do it unconsciously.<\/em>\u00a0I respect him but I do not want\u00a0to worship something,\u00a0that\u00a0is an idol.<\/em> Please help me\u00a0with an advice.<\/em> Here in Romania I asked someone, but I\u00a0got only this reply that: \u201cIf you say that you do not hurt anyone, then it is fine!\u201d I expect a response from you.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"IsGod definitely prohibits to worship idols<\/h2>\n

The first two of the 10 commandments that make up the core teaching of God say:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You shall have no other gods before Me.\u00a0You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.\u00a0You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,\u00a0but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. (Exodus 20:3-6)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Someone could\u00a0say that\u00a0you\u00a0do not\u00a0worship an idol, because you don\u2019t worship Morihei Ueshiba as a god, but gratefulness for\u00a0the martial art that has left after\u00a0him.\u00a0However, in my opinion, God\u2019s commandment\u00a0is very categorical and does not leave open brackets and the instructors<\/a> should take it into consideration.<\/p>\n

Is not this a cult of the dead?<\/h2>\n

Daily worship at this\u00a0picture implies more than respect. It turned into a cult of the dead, which is very prevalent in Japan and other countries in Asia. And then, I\u2019m curious, who established this\u00a0tradition or\u00a0label element in Aikido?\u00a0Was it\u00a0<\/span>Morihei Ueshiba himself?<\/p>\n

Whatever is not\u00a0from\u00a0faith is sin<\/h2>\n

From my personal experience<\/h2>\n

I practice Taekwon-Do for 20 years,\u00a0I am the holder of 5 Dan black belt and an international category instructor.\u00a0Some use to make this bow in our art before the picture of the founder Choi Hong Hi when entering the room.\u00a0From the moment when I\u00a0believed in\u00a0the Lord Jesus Christ and I knew the Holy Scriptures, I stopped this practice and I taught my\u00a0disciples this, too. Two of them\u00a0came back home\u00a0and through\u00a0the mercy and help of God\u00a0they are the winners of the\u00a0World Championship in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

I invite priests and all those practicing martial arts to express on the subject.\u00a0What do you think?\u00a0 Is it idolatry or not to worship the\u00a0portrait of the founder of martial art?<\/p>\n
