How can you keep the love for your wife, for\u00a0it will always appear a woman more beautiful than your wife?<\/em> I know this is a temptation, but I wonder how it can\u00a0be kept?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"How1.<\/span> Do not be conformed to this world<\/h2>\n

Another time,\u00a0this question\u00a0didn\u2019t even appear either to the unbeliever, but now things have changed.\u00a0Through films, books, magazines, Internet, etc., the devil\u00a0wants to convince us that love is a feeling out of any control of\u00a0our will, that you can not command to your heart and that true love comes and goes when\u00a0it pleases. In this way, the devil wants to deceive the whole world that true love is that which fulfills all your needs and your passions and if it\u00a0no longer copes, it no longer exists.\u00a0What a great deceit: extremal and cheeky selfishness\u00a0has come to be called love and be presented as this. Do not be deceived and do not\u00a0build your concepts about the world from sources that are contrary to the biblical truth. God says very clearly:<\/p>\n

And do not be conformed to this world<\/strong>, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

2.<\/span>\u00a0Realize the love of God<\/h2>\n

In the Old Testament, God often compared\u00a0His relationship with the people of Israel with the\u00a0one of a man and his wife. After his beloved wife, the people of Israel, turned away from Him\u00a0and sinned seriously, committing adultery with\u00a0foreign idols, God has left it for a while, but then said through\u00a0the prophet\u00a0Jeremiah:<\/p>\n

The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying,\u00a0\u201dI have loved you with an everlasting love;\u00a0therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness.\u00a0<\/strong>Again I will build you and you will be rebuilt,\u00a0O virgin of Israel!\u00a0Again you will take up your tambourines,\u00a0and go forth to the dances of the merrymakers. (Jeremiah 31:3-4)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If God so behaved with\u00a0His\u00a0wife who was unfaithful, the more any man who\u00a0realizes the\u00a0love of God will love his wife with an everlasting love and will keep his lovingkindness to her for all his life, so as to reflect the character and glory of God, for we were created for this.<\/p>\n

3.<\/span> Reflect the character of the Lord Jesus<\/h2>\n

God instituted\u00a0marriage to be a picture of the heavenly family. The Epistle to the Ephesians\u00a0relates that in a\u00a0marriage the husband\u00a0reflects the Lord Jesus and his wife reflects the church. In this context God\u00a0commands all men to love their wives and to be ready to sacrifice for them, because only in this way we are able to reflect the Lord Jesus through our behavior. And it is written so:<\/p>\n

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,\u00a0so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,\u00a0that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.\u00a0So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;\u00a0for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,\u00a0because we are members of His body.\u00a0FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.\u00a0(Ephesians 5:25-31)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

4.<\/span>\u00a0Choose to stay in love<\/h2>\n

Every man must understand that it is responsible to keep\u00a0his love and passions directed towards his wife for all his life, as the Holy Scriptures says:<\/p>\n

Drink water from your own cistern\u00a0and fresh water from your own well.\u00a0Should your springs be dispersed abroad,\u00a0streams of water in the streets?\u00a0Let them be yours alone\u00a0and not for strangers with you.\u00a0Let your fountain be blessed,\u00a0and rejoice in the wife of your youth<\/strong>.\u00a0As a loving hind and a graceful doe,\u00a0let her breasts satisfy you at all times;\u00a0be exhilarated always with her love.<\/strong> (Proverbs 5:15-19)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

5.<\/span> Do not be tempted\u00a0by other women<\/h2>\n

As soon\u00a0as the Word of\u00a0God\u00a0tells about the<\/span>\u00a0duty of a man to be exhilarated always with the love of his wife,\u00a0It says:<\/p>\n

For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress\u00a0and embrace the bosom of a foreigner?\u00a0For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD,\u00a0and He watches all his paths.\u00a0His own iniquities will capture the wicked,\u00a0and he will be held with the cords of his sin.\u00a0He will die for lack of instruction,\u00a0and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray. (Proverbs 5:20-23)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Be a wise man and do not allow your heart admire a foreigner,\u00a0so that you may not somehow lust her in your heart. Learn\u00a0to be\u00a0a\u00a0restrictive\u00a0man and to behave\u00a0wisely in all circumstances. Watch over your heart.<\/p>\n
