Priest, I\u00a0am 17 years and all my friends say it\u2019s strange that I have not yet dated\u00a0with any boy.<\/em>\u00a0I want to wait the one who\u00a0will reach my ideals, but sometimes I feel so bad that I don\u2019t have somebody to love me.<\/i>\u00a0I do not<\/em> refer to sex, but to simple gestures: a flower, a walk\u00a0in the park, a nice word.<\/em>\u00a0I want to follow the advice \u201cnot to\u00a0arouse\u00a0the love until she pleases\u201d, but\u00a0it is so difficult, especially if you think that is shame that by the age of 17, I have not\u00a0kissed anyone.<\/i>\u00a0I want to meet someone to love me sincerely, but I think this is impossible.<\/i> I think I am too sinful\u00a0to receive a pure and righteous love from\u00a0God.<\/i>\u00a0I do not deserve such a gift. Please, help me with a good advice to find peace for my soul.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The situation described by the author of the question is a very common one, especially in this world and nowadays. So, how should you\u00a0proceed\u00a0if you are in such a situation?<\/p>\n

Do not listen to\u00a0what\u00a0people say<\/h2>\n

Why do girls say that it is strange that you have\u00a0not dated\u00a0<\/a>anyone until now? The fact that you have not dated anyone yet, until the age of 17, is a virtue, not a weakness.This is a proof of your purity and that you are worthy of the name of \u201cvirgin\u201d that you have. God wants you to keep yourself pure for your husband and the fact that you have not\u00a0dated anyone so far is a beautiful thing before God. Only those, who do not know God\u2019s Word and live their lives as they wish,\u00a0can\u00a0judge you.\u00a0Do not be influenced by anybody.\u00a0You will see\u00a0in 15-20 years what the consequences will be in the lives of those who sought with all their strength to\u00a0date anyone, and then you will see the difference between keeping\u00a0and\u00a0not keeping yourself\u00a0pure.<\/p>\n

Your husband will be proud of you and will\u00a0respect you\u00a0more<\/h2>\n

The fact that you are a virgin and that you have not\u00a0dated anyone else, and your heart was not bound\u00a0to\u00a0any man, will make your future spouse respect and love you more.\u00a0My wife told me she loves me when we got engaged and she said she loves me since I was in fourth grade. It makes me feel\u00a0very special, and I have a deep respect for my wife whose heart was never bound to any other man but me.<\/p>\n

Beware of traps<\/h2>\n

It is a sad reality, but I must say it \u2013 in this world, there are boys and men who behave cowardly.\u00a0If one of them will find that you are desperate to date, they will set a trap to use you.\u00a0You can wake up in a day and meet\u00a0someone who comes to you\u00a0and\u00a0tells you that he loves you, that he admires you, etc.\u00a0They will give you a flower, a walk in a\u00a0park and a nice word but all these will not be from a heart that loves you, but will be\u00a0traps set against\u00a0your soul,\u00a0to lure you\u00a0in their bed and then, after they will use you, they\u00a0will leave you\u00a0as a dirty rag that they themselves have dirtied\u00a0and turned into a rag.\u00a0Do not be desperate to\u00a0date because you do not want to become\u00a0a rag.<\/p>\n

Do not\u00a0give an impression of a harlot\u00a0woman<\/h2>\n

You said well when you said that you are not interested in having sexual relations with someone;\u00a0that\u00a0you want\u00a0love, respect and genuine affection. You are under influences that\u00a0arouse your love. One of these influences are your friends who\u00a0repeat that \u201cit is strange that you do not\u00a0date anyone\u201d. It is like\u00a0you\u00a0have\u00a0a blemish, and they\u00a0are perfect.\u00a0Be wise and do not let them influence you.<\/p>\n

When the colleagues of our daughter tried to tell her that she was\u00a0a child since she does not date anyone, she\u00a0replied, \u201cRight, I\u2019m still girl and I am happy for\u00a0my childhood. And\u00a0if you go on dates, it is suitable neither for\u00a0your age nor\u00a0to\u00a0your situation; and\u00a0it will only do harm\u00a0to you.”<\/p>\n

I suppose, there are other influences that make you think that it is wrong not to date.\u00a0See what books, magazines and newspapers you read, what movies you watch, what Internet pages\u00a0you visit; and last but not the least, who your friends are influencing you. Remove the bad influences in your life and remember what God says in the Scripture:<\/p>\n

Watch over your heart with all diligence,\u00a0for from it flow the springs of life. (Proverbs of Solomon 4:23, NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God will honor\u00a0the purity of your living<\/h2>\n

You should not feel dirty because you have not gone on dates. As I said it above, and I say it again –\u00a0this is a virtue, and God will honor that you wait for the love He will send\u00a0you at the appropriate time, as the Holy Scriptures say:<\/p>\n

The hope of the righteous is gladness,\u00a0but the expectation of the wicked perishes.\u00a0(Proverbs of Solomon 10:28)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And the girls telling you that \u201cit is strange that you\u00a0do not date at\u00a017″, should not expect anything good\u00a0if they choose to live such a life. God has a word for them:<\/p>\n

The desire of the righteous is only good,\u00a0but the expectation of the wicked is wrath<\/strong>. (Proverbs of Solomon 11:23)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The man\u00a0who will\u00a0love you will propose you marriage<\/h2>\n

God is the one who puts love into\u00a0people\u2019s hearts and unites them in marriage. He will send your way a man who will be your husband, and you do no even\u00a0realize how it\u00a0will happen. Then the man who will truly love you, will\u00a0want you to be his\u00a0wife and not mistress.\u00a0He will ask for your hand, as\u00a0every wise man does.<\/p>\n

Experience the true love now<\/h2>\n

This will give you true happiness that\u00a0both the unmarried and the married\u00a0miss so much.<\/p>\n
