Sabbath was a shadow<\/h2>\n
The Apostle Paul wrote to Christians from Colosse:<\/p>\n
Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\nSo, the Sabbath, or observance the day of rest was a shadow of\u00a0the\u00a0future things and not the actual appearance of things. In the Epistle to Hebrews it is said:<\/p>\n

Lord Jesus offers the\u00a0true rest<\/h2>\n
It seems that Lord Jesus\u00a0was doing certain things deliberately on the Sabbath day and this has aroused the discontent of those who respected the Sabbath without seeking to understand the true meaning that God put in observance of this day. The Savior said:<\/p>\n
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest<\/strong>.\u00a0Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS<\/strong>.\u00a0For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\nIn a confrontation with those who accused Him of making miracles and healing on the Sabbath, Lord Jesus said:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.\u00a0So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The day of rest is not to cause divergence<\/h2>\n
Because\u00a0Sabbath was a shadow of the true rest which was brought in Jesus Christ, we do not need to have discussions and disagreement between us, Christians, on this subject. The Apostle Paul wrote:<\/p>\n
Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions<\/strong>.\u00a0One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.\u00a0The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.\u00a0Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.\u00a0One person regards one day above another, <\/strong>another regards every day alike.<\/strong> Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.\u00a0He who observes the day<\/strong>, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. Because Jesus rose on Sunday, as written in the four Gospels, first Christians used to meet to worship and to break bread on this\u00a0day. When he reports about the case with the resurrection of Eutyches, Luke writes:<\/p>\n
On the first day of the week<\/strong>, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.<\/span> (Acts 20:7)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\nIt should not\u00a0be an opportunity for discussion or controversy between Christians weather the Sabbath day is on Sunday or on Saturday. The Bible teaches us to accept each other in this regard without judging\u00a0or despising. On the other hand, it helps you nothing, no\u00a0matter what day you observe, or even if you observe both of them, unless you entered into the true rest of the Lord Jesus, and\u00a0your soul has found His rest.
