I am a<\/em> Christian, I am 16 years and I have a\u00a0 question.<\/em>\u00a0More people tell me\u00a0that I am not mature in thinking for my age.\u00a0What can I do to\u00a0mature, to think more mature?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The change has already started\u00a0by the fact that you admit your situation and\u00a0you see\u00a0the need to grow up in thinking.I assume that there are certain things that you do different from how people expect to be made at your age.If you can say specific situations,\u00a0I can give you specific advice.But until then I want to suggest you the following.<\/p>\n

Study the Holy Scriptures\u00a0systematically<\/h2>\n

At the beginning of the book of Proverbs, wise Solomon wrote:<\/p>\n

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:\u00a0to know wisdom and instruction,\u00a0to discern the sayings of understanding,\u00a0to receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice and equity;\u00a0to give prudence to the naive,\u00a0to the youth knowledge and discretion,\u00a0a wise man will hear and increase in learning,\u00a0and a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel,\u00a0to understand a proverb and a figure,\u00a0the words of the wise and their riddles.\u00a0The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;\u00a0fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs of Solomon 1:1-7)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Start studying systematically the Holy Scriptures doing your utmost\u00a0to apply in your\u00a0life\u00a0everything you learn.\u00a0This will mature you a lot in thinking.<\/p>\n

Seek to understand\u00a0the reasons of\u00a0the adults<\/h2>\n

Why do they say you are not yet mature, that you do not think sufficiently mature? When someone tells you this, do not rush to get angry, or to\u00a0exculpate yourself, or\u00a0to lose your heart and despair, but try to understand what makes people think about you so.It might be that some of those who tell you so are not right.<\/p>\n

One day, our daughter, while she was still in high school, told us that her colleagues said the same about her,\u00a0that she was still a child and that was because\u00a0she did not participate in discussions about boys, about dates, about \u201clove\u201d, as they were saying.Our girl then replied: \u201cIt is true that I am a child and I want to be happy\u00a0in my childhood.\u00a0But you talk about things that are not suited to your age.\u201d We\u00a0appreciated her answer\u00a0very high, because through it\u00a0she showed she had a really mature thinking.<\/p>\n

Learn to have the mind\u00a0of Christ<\/h2>\n

When you know how to sacrifice for others, when\u00a0you serve others and look for the good of others, you prove\u00a0that you have the most mature way of thinking, as God teaches us in the Scriptures:<\/p>\n

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;\u00a0do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.\u00a0Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,\u00a0who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,\u00a0but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.\u00a0Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.\u00a0For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,\u00a0so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,\u00a0and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:3-11)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To think\u00a0as Christ, you must learn from Him.\u00a0Study and apply the truth from the\u00a0Holy Scriptures.<\/p>\n
