The Savior told this parable to some who trusted themselves that they were righteous and despised others.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\"><p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.\u00a0The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: \u2018God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.\u00a0I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.\u2019\u00a0But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, \u2018God, be merciful to me, the sinner!\u2019\u00a0I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.\u201d (Gospel of Luke 18:10-14)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>All people have sinned and lack His glory.
