In this respect I suggest you to\u00a0read the article\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/moldovacrestina.md\/en\/why-shall-the-wedding-be-officiated-in-the-church-5-reasons\/\">Why shall the wedding be officiated in the church? (5 reasons) <\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>The civil ceremony<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Constitution of the Republic of Moldova says:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\"><p><em>The family is the natural and fundamental\u00a0element of the society and it has\u00a0the right\u00a0to\u00a0be protected by the\u00a0society and the state.<\/em> <em>(Art.48-1)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The family is the fundamental\u00a0element and it must be protected by the state.\u00a0The civil ceremony is the official registration of the marriage to the state.\u00a0The Lord Jesus teaches us to be subjected to the state as long as it does not come in conflict with God\u2019s will\u00a0written in the Holy Scriptures. The Apostle Paul wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\"><p>Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities for there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. (Romans 13:1)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In all states\u00a0at all times, the family was the basic unit of the society and, more or less,\u00a0it was protected by the state.\u00a0In the beginning, when Christians were persecuted and were not recognized in the Roman Empire, they had to officiate both the\u00a0religiuous marriage in the church and the civil one.Then, in the Middle Ages, in most states, the\u00a0marriage ceremony\u00a0was automatically regarded as\u00a0the civil marriage, too.Since the\u00a0church was separated\u00a0from\u00a0the state,\u00a0it came back to both the marriage ceremony in the church and the civil ceremony.\u00a0Typically, many churches ask firstly to be officiated the\u00a0civil\u00a0ceremony and then the marriage ceremony is officiated in the church.\u00a0 It is good to perform both of them on the same day, if it is possible. A family will be considered founded when both the wedding ceremony in church and the civil ceremony were performed.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Concubinage is not a civil marriage but adultery<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There is\u00a0one more\u00a0important thing to be mentioned here.\u00a0Some people\u00a0call concubinage as civil marriage. Once I\u00a0was traveling by train and I met a man, whom I asked\u00a0about his family and he\u00a0told me that\u00a0he\u00a0was in\u00a0civil\u00a0marriage with a woman. <span class=\"google-src-text\">Understanding what<\/span>\u00a0he called marriage, I asked: \u201cAre you saying that you performed only the civil ceremony and\u00a0you are not\u00a0married in a church?\u201d.He replied: \u201cNo, we are nor registered at any registry office nor married\u00a0in the church.\u201d\u00a0Then I told him directly that he lives in adultery with that woman\u00a0and I urged him to leave this sin, to register the marriage at the\u00a0registry office and\u00a0to marry in a church.<\/p>\n<p><em>Translated by Felicia Djugostran<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A reader of the portal has asked this question: When can we\u00a0say that a family was\u00a0founded: after the civil\u00a0ceremony\u00a0or after the religious one, or after both ceremonies were performed?
