Reason 1 \u2013 Marriage is a divine institution <\/strong><\/h2>\n
The whole second chapter\u00a0of the book of Genesis relates\u00a0us about the creation of\u00a0man and woman and celebration of the\u00a0first marriage in the history of mankind. God is the author of\u00a0marriage and\u00a0He\u00a0officiated the first\u00a0marriage\u00a0so:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.\u00a0The man said, \u201cThis is now bone of my bones,\u00a0and flesh of my flesh;\u00a0she shall be called Woman,\u00a0because she was taken out of Man.\u201d\u00a0For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:22-24)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
So, marriage is a divine institution, that\u2019s why, it is right to be\u00a0officiated with all solemnity before God.<\/p>\n
Reason 2 \u2013 Marriage is a covenant before God <\/strong><\/h2>\n
At a certain period of apostasy of the people of Israel, men were not faithful to their wives and God interfered\u00a0and spoke to\u00a0them through the prophet Malachi as it follows:<\/p>\n
Yet you say, \u2018For what reason?\u2019 Because the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant.<\/span>(Malachi 2:14)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Every marriage is a covenant and God is the witness. It is right and good that this\u00a0covenant be officiated before the main Witness, who always watches and will watch on the\u00a0couple who entered\u00a0that covenant.<\/p>\n
Reason 3 \u2013 God brings together the two\u00a0in marriage <\/strong><\/h2>\n
The evangelist Matthew relates us the following event from the life of Jesus on this earth:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, \u201cIs it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?\u201d\u00a0And He answered and said, \u201cHave you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, and said, \u2018FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH\u2019?\u00a0So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.\u201d (Gospel of Matthew 19:3-6)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Because God is the one who\u00a0brings together the two, it\u00a0is right and good that they\u00a0officiate this unity, that is their marriage, before the\u00a0One who has brought them together.<\/p>\n
Reason 4 \u2013 God is the Creator of the bride and the groom <\/strong><\/h2>\n
How will we find\u00a0it, if anyone questions if it is necessary to officiate the wedding before\u00a0the parents who\u00a0gave birth to them, or to\u00a0think whether to invite them or not at the wedding. We don\u2019t even want to think that somebody could think that way.\u00a0Then how can you officiate your wedding and not to come before the\u00a0One\u00a0who\u00a0created you and\u00a0created your bride or groom?How can you\u00a0rejoice without Him, the main reason of your joy?<\/p>\n
Reason 5 –\u00a0The bride and the groom\u00a0need the blessing of God in marriage <\/strong><\/h2>\n
After creating the first people, God blessed them at their\u00a0marriage, as it is written in the Bible<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.\u00a0God blessed them; and God said to them, \u201cBe fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.\u201d (Genesis 1:27-28)(NASB)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
I am sure these are sufficient\u00a0reasons for any bride and groom to wish\u00a0to officiate\u00a0their marriage in a solemn and holy atmosphere before God.<\/p>\n
