Last week all people were shocked to find out that the police arrested a minibus that had\u00a0an ammount of 200 kg heroin on it. After I read an article from a local paper about this case, I remembered the book written by the prophet Isaiah. He lived in a time when corruption exceeded all bounds. Here is what Isaiah said:<\/p>\n

\n

How the faithful city has become a harlot,\u00a0she who was full of justice!\u00a0Righteousness once lodged in her, but now murderers. (Isaiah 1:21)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

We call ourselves a Christian country, but even those who know history well can not remember any time when righteousness and justice abode our country. But it has been full of murderers for many centuries and it continues nowadays. How many lives have drugs destroyed\u2026 Do you imagine how many lives could those 200 kg of heroin destroy unless they were stopped?<\/p>\n

Statesmen lost their righteousness<\/strong><\/p>\n

Isaiah compares the\u00a0rulers of Israel with silver, the treasure of the nation, the pure wine and he says about them:<\/p>\n

\n

Your silver has become dross,\u00a0your drink diluted with water.\u00a0Your rulers are rebels\u00a0and companions of thieves;\u00a0everyone loves a bribe\u00a0and chases after rewards\u00a0they do not defend the orphan,\u00a0nor does the widow\u2019s plea come before them. (Isaiah 1:22\u201323)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

God\u2019s judgement will not stay too long<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you see what happens, you don\u2019t know what to do and it seems to you that unrighteousness will reign forever. Let no one think this way. God will not stay too long and He is going to judge those who are His enemies by doing unrighteousness.<\/p>\n

\n

Therefore the Lord GOD of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, declares,\u00a0\u201dAh, I will be relieved of My adversaries\u00a0and avenge Myself on My foes.\u00a0I will also turn My hand against you,\u00a0and will smelt away your dross as with lye\u00a0and will remove all your alloy.\u00a0Then I will restore your judges as at the first,\u00a0and your\u00a0 counselors as at the beginning;\u00a0after that you will be called the city of righteousness,\u00a0a faithful city.\u201d (Isaiah 1:24\u201326)(NASB)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

God\u2019s judgement against corrupted rulers will not stay too long, but it\u2019s difficult to imagine that God will make justice live in our country. This will happen only when the whole nation will turn to God. Let us turn to Him with all our heart!<\/p>\n
