During a dispute over homosexuality at ULIM (Free University of Moldova), a young woman asked me: “Why is Christianity such a weak religion compared to other world religions such as Islam, Buddhism, etc.?” The young woman wondered why Christianity did not have the same influence in society as other world religions. The reasons are many and it would be a good topic for a future article. Jesus commanded the apostles and all Christians to go into all the world to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to keep all that He had commanded us and to be witnesses to the ends of the earth. In order to do this, it is very important to use all the new technologies that are emerging. <\/span>All things must be used for the proclamation of the gospel.<\/b> One of these technologies is the mobile phone which is used in everyday life by almost every person today, both young and mature, especially in big cities. Even more, our son who is in 3rd grade told me that all his classmates have a cell phone. In today’s article I want to give some advice to Christians on how to use the mobile phone to proclaim the gospel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Set a sound (alarm)<\/b><\/h3>\n

Now all young people compete for the song or sounds they use as a signal when they receive a message or a phone call. Some use beautiful songs, others sounds that some animals make, some set a person’s laughter, and so on. I recorded my own voice, reading the following Bible verse:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/b>\u201cCome to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.\u201d (Matthew 11:28-30 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Whenever I am in a public place or with a person, when the phone rings, the people next to me hear this verse and it is impossible not to leave a mark in their hearts, because God also said:<\/span><\/p>\n

For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,and do not return there without watering the earth,and making it produce and sprout,and providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;<\/span><\/p>\n

It will not return to Me empty,Without accomplishing what I desire,and without succeeding <\/span>in the purpose<\/span><\/i> for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:10-11 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When choosing a Bible verse, think about the problems and situations of the people around you, even try to think about certain situations in their lives. For example, if you are a student and you are now in session, it is a good idea to write a verse that talks about worry, such as this:<\/span><\/p>\n

Do not worry then, saying, \u2018What are we to eat?\u2019 or \u2018What are we to drink?\u2019 or \u2018What are we to wear for clothing?\u2019 <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.\u201d (Matthew 6:31-34 NASB)<\/span><\/p>\n

When friends hear this message before exams, or during exams, they will appreciate and pay more attention to our Lord’s words.<\/span><\/p>\n

Periodically change the verse<\/b><\/h3>\n

It is good to change the verse every week, depending on your circumstances. Remember that each of us spends a certain amount of time with the same group of people. If you are a student, you spend a lot of time with classmates. If you are at work, you are with people who work in the same job. If you let the same Bible verse linger for a long time, people will not pay attention. Therefore, periodically change the biblical verse so that the Word of God is always fresh and according to the needs of men. It is good to change the verse weekly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Use nice background music<\/b><\/h3>\n

Music has its charm and touches every soul. Therefore, it is good to use background music for the verse you are recording, but if you do not know how to do it, do not worry too much. The message is much more important. If you think that someone in your household or among your friends has a more pleasant voice than yours, ask that person to record the verse with his or her voice. It has a very good effect when you record verses beautifully read by children.<\/span><\/p>\n

Be ready to explain the Bible verse<\/b><\/h3>\n

It is not a whole sermon, but be ready when people become interested in the truth heard in the verse on your phone, give them an answer and explanations of God’s Word as it is written:<\/span><\/p>\n

But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always <\/span>being<\/span><\/i> ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect; and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who disparage your good behavior in Christ will be put to shame. (1 Peter 3:15-16 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Store up the Word of God in your heart<\/b><\/h3>\n

Having a new Bible verse on your phone each week and hearing the same verse several times a day will be a great benefit to you, as you will learn all these verses from memory and thus store up the Word of God in your heart.<\/span><\/p>\n

Help Christian friends set up their phone<\/b><\/h3>\n

If you understand how well and effectively your cell phone can be used to proclaim the gospel, help your friends. Tell them about this effective method that is available to anyone and help them set up their mobile phone. Only when your Christian friends see this will they be motivated to do the same. Just try to imagine how intensely the gospel will be proclaimed when the phones of all Christians proclaim the truth of the Bible, and they will be ready to answer all people, to explain the verses, having a clean and respectable way of life. May God help us with this.<\/span><\/p>\n
