Question:<\/span><\/p>\n

Why is it that people in the church have no one to tell? Are there no trusting relationships with pastors?<\/span><\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I am very sorry that this situation is in your church. The Lord has greatly blessed our family with a pastor who is like a parent to us. I think that’s how every church member should relate to their pastor. As for the confession, it is not only the pastors who must be trusted in a church. Many Christians believe that only the pastors should run to the right and to the left and be available to everyone 24 hours a day. It’s not like that! Each member must be a trustworthy person and able to be a mentor to another. Many Christians today feel comfortable with Sunday only. Why? Because \u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Christians do not want to be mentors.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is very difficult to listen to the pain of others. It takes a lot of patience. It means getting involved in the lives of others. It’s more comfortable not doing it, but it’s not good. A man of God dedicates his life to others, he has the mind of Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cdo not <\/span>merely<\/span><\/i> look out for your own personal <\/span>interests<\/span><\/i>, but also for the <\/span>interests<\/span><\/i> of others. Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He <\/span>already<\/span><\/i> existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself <\/span>by<\/span><\/i> taking the form of a bond-servant <\/span>and<\/span><\/i> being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>and <\/span>that<\/span><\/i> every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.<\/span> So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;\u201d (Philippians 2:4-12 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Paul speaks to the Christians in Philippi, to the whole church, not just to a leader there; especially, since at the end he uses the phrase, “Beloved ones, as you have always been obedient.” So the whole church was active.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are fewer and fewer people to trust.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, many Christians do not confess, because there are too few who can keep their confession secret. We need to be trustworthy.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.\u201d (2 Timothy 2:2 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There are few who are trustworthy, and few are steadfast in the Word, able to counsel others in the Word. Because\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Learn from the example of other mentors.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are so many examples of mentors in the Scriptures; we just need to study to learn from them. I urge you to study the Bible Study on How to Be a God-Mentored Mentor, written by a special mentor who has had an impact on the life of our family, Mia Oglice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mordecai, who was raising Esther, orphaned her and had a special influence on her life. Esther, who later becomes queen, follows Mordecai’s instructions just as accurately.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/b>Esther did not reveal her people or her kindred, because Mordecai had instructed her that she was not to reveal <\/span>them<\/span><\/i>. And every day Mordecai walked back and forth in front of the courtyard of the harem to learn how Esther was and what was happening to her.\u201d (Esther 2:10-11, 20 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Obviously, she never asked herself whether or not to listen to him, whether to confess to him or not. Why? Because Mordecai was a trusted man who understood the purpose of his existence.<\/span><\/p>\n

May God help us to be trustworthy people, to whom many will come and reveal themselves, and we will be able to help them.<\/span><\/p>\n
