After his resurrection on the first day of the week and until the ascension, the work of the Lord Jesus was to show Himself to His disciples by many proofs and to speak to them about things concerning the Kingdom of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of things regarding the kingdom of God. (Acts 1:3 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The appearance of the Lord Jesus was convincing, evidenced by many proofs for those who did not expect a resurrection. His appearance to the disciples and many others (1 Corinthians 15:1-11) shows us that Jesus is alive. Those who saw and touched Him became witnesses of His resurrection, preaching the message of God&#8217;s Kingdom to the ends of the earth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">During the forty days, the Lord Jesus was not continuously with His disciples, as He was during the three previous years, but He appeared to them at intervals, as it is also reported in the Gospels: Mary Magdalene (John 20:11-18), the women who came to the tomb (Matthew 28: 1-9), the two disciples on the way to Emmaus (Luke 24: 13-34), Peter in Jerusalem (Luke 24:34), the 10 disciples (John 20: 19-24), after eight days, Jesus appeared to the eleven disciples (John 20: 26-28), to the eleven disciples in Galilee (John 21:1), to the five hundred disciples (1 Corinthians 15:6), to James (1 Corinthians 15:7).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But what did Jesus do between His appearances? After His resurrection and glorification, His place is no longer on earth, but at the right hand of His Father. We do not find much information in the Gospels about Jesus&#8217; activity during this forty-day period. The book of Acts tells us that the time after the resurrection of Jesus was dedicated to His disciples, teaching them about the things of the Kingdom of God:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of things regarding the kingdom of God.
