Some preach the lie of universalism, that Jesus died for all, whoever says such a thing did not understand the attributes of God, His plan, His sovereign work, implicitly election.<\/span><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Is it a lie to say that Jesus died for all? What does the Bible say about Jesus’ sacrifice?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When Jesus came into the world, John the Baptist presented Him as “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). John does not say “the sin of the believers,” but the sin of the world! And the Apostle John in his first epistle specifies that the Lord Jesus \u201cis the atoning sacrifice for our sins; and not only for ours, but for the whole world.\u201d (1 John 2:2)\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. His sacrifice is sufficient for the whole world, but it is effective only for those who believe in His Name, that is, they believe that He is the Christ (the Promised One of God), the Son of God (of one nature with God).<\/span><\/p>\n

Because Jesus died for the sins of all mankind, all will be resurrected in Him, just as all die in Adam (1 Corinthians 15:22). Here is what Jesus Himself says about it:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTruly, truly, I say to you, time is coming and even now has arrived, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself; and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is t<\/span>he<\/span><\/i> Son of Man. Do not be amazed at this; for a time is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,<\/span> and will come out: those who did the good <\/span>deeds<\/span><\/i> to a resurrection of life, those who committed the bad <\/span>deeds<\/span><\/i> to a resurrection of judgment.<\/span> \u201cI can do nothing on My own. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of Him who sent Me. <\/span>(John 5:25-30)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If we were to be judged by our deeds, no one could stand when judged, because we all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God. For this reason, our escape is not to be judged. This is possible through faith in the name of the Lord Jesus. Whoever does not believe in the name of the Lord Jesus has been judged! But not because of the evil deeds he did, but because he did not believe in the name of the only Son of God, who died for his sins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. <\/span>(John 3:18 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Chapter 20 of Revelation tells us about two resurrections. The believers have the first resurrection and are said to be blessed and holy, the second death (the lake that burns with fire and brimstone) has no power over them and they will reign with Christ for a thousand years. The other dead are said to be resurrected after a thousand years for judgment. Revelation 20:11-15 describes the final judgment. It will be proved to all men, by their deeds, that they deserve the death penalty. But because Jesus died for their sins, they will not be thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone for their deeds, but because they were not found in the book of life!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet <\/span>are<\/span><\/i> also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is <\/span>the book<\/span><\/i> of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them; and they were judged, each one <\/span>of them<\/span><\/i> according to their deeds. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone\u2019s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. <\/span>(Revelation 20:11-15 NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus is enough for your sins! But is it also effective? Did you believe in His name to be exempt from the Judgment Day?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
