In Bethlehem, the city of David, a Savior was born to us, who is Christ the Lord. It is a great joy for all of us Christians in this world to celebrate the birthday of our Lord, and in order to benefit fully from this event, it is good to remember why the Son of God became flesh for 33 years, to live with us. Why was Christ born?<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Because we are the work of His hands<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Gospel of John tells us at the beginning about the Lord Jesus:<\/span><\/p>\n

All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into being that has come into being. (John 1:3 NASB)\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We are the work of His hands and He came out of love for us to bring us the gift of eternal life.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. To make God known to us<\/b><\/h2>\n

When atheists sought to convince us that there was no God, they said that no one had ever seen Him. It is not a great discovery. Our sins put a wall of separation between us and God. However, God can be known and that is why the Lord Jesus Christ came, as the Apostle John writes:<\/span><\/p>\n

No one has seen God at any time; God the only Son, who is in the arms of the Father, He has explained Him. (John 1:18 )(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Do you know God? Have you experienced His power in your life?<\/span><\/p>\n

3. To enlighten each of us<\/b><\/h2>\n

We do not have the knowledge of God and especially the knowledge necessary for the salvation of our soul. By the way, salvation means deliverance, rescue. Jesus came to bring us this knowledge, as it is written in the Gospel:<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the true Light that, coming into the world, enlightens every person. (John 1: 9) (NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Have you learned the Way of Salvation enough to start on it?<\/span><\/p>\n

4. To bring us God’s grace and truth<\/b><\/h2>\n

In the biblical sense of the word, grace means an undeserved gift. This gift is the forgiveness of sins, love, and eternal life that God comes to give through faith in Christ Jesus, as it is written:<\/span><\/p>\n

For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. (John 1: 16-17 )(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Did you receive God’s grace?<\/span><\/p>\n

5. To take away our sins<\/b><\/h2>\n

All people are sinners, and our generation is no exception. Jesus came to be sacrificed for our sins. As he was passing by, John the Baptist turned the people to Jesus and said to them,<\/span><\/p>\n

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, \u201cBehold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29 )(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Have you received forgiveness for your sins? Have you received deliverance from the bondage of sin?<\/span><\/p>\n

6. To make us children of God<\/b><\/h2>\n

Being slaves to sin, we were strangers and without God in the world. The Lord Jesus came to make us children of God by faith in Him, as it says:<\/span><\/p>\n

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God. (John 1:12-13)( NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Do you live like a child of God?<\/span><\/p>\n

7. To baptize us with the Holy Spirit<\/b><\/h2>\n

Baptism symbolizes an immersion that identifies you with the substance in which you were immersed. By His coming to this earth, the Lord Jesus made it possible for us to receive the Holy Spirit<\/a>, who empowers every true Christian to live in holiness, leading him to the Kingdom of Heaven. John the Baptist made this confession about the Lord Jesus:<\/span><\/p>\n

And I did not recognize Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, \u2018He upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is the One who baptizes in the Holy Spirit. And I myself have seen, and have testified that this is the Son of God. (John 1:33-34 )(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
