Peace! I watched a video of you about how a Christian should behave in the workplace<\/a>, and I would like to ask you: what should you do when you tell the boss who is a brother in Christ that some employees (people from the world) would steal or do other things that we know they are sins, and he allows or covers them?<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If you have seen someone steal or do other bad and damaging things at work and told the boss about it, it’s good. I hope you talked to the boss after you talked to that person. If you did, it’s enough and you do not have to do anything else. If the boss chose to do so, then he knows why he does that. Behold, this morning I read about David’s return after he was cast out by the son of Absalom, that Shimei, who cursed the king David, was now hurrying to go forth.<\/span><\/p>\n

So he said to the king, \u201cLet not my lord consider me guilty, nor remember what your servant did wrong on the day when my lord the king came out from Jerusalem, so that the king would take it to heart. <\/span>For your servant knows that I have sinned; therefore behold, I have come today, the first of all the house of Joseph to go down to meet my lord the king.\u201d<\/span> But Abishai the son of Zeruiah said, \u201cShould not Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the <\/span>Lord\u2019s<\/span> anointed?\u201d David then said, \u201cWhat have I to do with you, O sons of Zeruiah, that you should this day be an adversary to me? Should any man be put to death in Israel today? For do I not know that I am king over Israel today?\u201d<\/span> The king said to Shimei, \u201cYou shall not die.\u201d Thus the king swore to him.<\/span>( <\/span>2 Samuel 19: 19-23)(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

You saw, from Abishai\u2019s point of view, the king did not do the right thing and tolerated a sin. But David was a wise man and knew that it was not the time to punish Shimei. However, Shimei did not remain unpunished. Before his death, David told his son Solomon, to whom he left the reign:<\/span><\/p>\n

Behold, there is with you Shimei the son of Gera the Benjamite, of Bahurim; now it was he who cursed me with a violent curse on the day I went to Mahanaim. But when he came down to me at the Jordan, I swore to him by the Lord, saying, \u2018I will not put you to death with the sword.\u2019 <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Now therefore, do not let him go unpunished, for you are a wise man; and you will know what you ought to do to him, and you will bring his gray hair down to Sheol with blood.\u201d (1 Kings 2: 8-9)(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And Solomon has fulfilled his father’s commandment, as it says:<\/span><\/p>\n

Now the king sent and called for Shimei and said to him, \u201cBuild for yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, and do not go out from there to any place. For on the day you go out and cross over the brook Kidron, you will know for certain that you shall surely die; your blood shall be on your own head.\u201d Shimei then said to the king, \u201cThe word is good. As my lord the king has said, so your servant will do.\u201d So Shimei lived in Jerusalem many days.<\/span> But it came about at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away to Achish son of Maacah, king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, \u201cBehold, your servants are in Gath.\u201dThen Shimei arose and saddled his donkey, and went to Gath to Achish to look for his servants. And Shimei went and brought his servants from Gath. <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>It was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and had returned. So the king sent and called for Shimei and said to him, \u201cDid I not make you swear by the Lord and solemnly warn you, saying, \u2018You will know for certain that on the day you depart and go anywhere, you shall surely die\u2019? And you said to me, \u2018The word which I have heard is good.\u2019 <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>Why then have you not kept the oath of the Lord, and the command which I have laid on you?\u201d The king also said to Shimei, \u201cYou know all the evil which you acknowledge in your heart, which you did to my father David; therefore the Lord shall return your evil on your own head.<\/span> But King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the Lord forever.\u201d <\/span>\u00a0<\/b>So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he went out and fell upon him so that he died. Thus the kingdom was established in the hands of Solomon. (1 Kings 2: 36-46)(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So Shimei did not remain unpunished for the iniquity that he did. If you told the boss about what happened, you do not have to do anything else anymore, for otherwise you would be one who interferes in the affairs of another and in the Bible, it is written:<\/span><\/p>\n

Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler. (1 Peter 4: 15)(NASB)<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In fact, yes, there is something you have to do. Something very important. If you have not done that yet, go to those who steal or do other evil things and tell them about the Lord Jesus Christ about His love, and that through faith in Him, they can receive the forgiveness of sins and can receive the gift of eternal life and a new heart that they may no longer be robbed of thievery or other iniquity which they commit now. May the Lord give a good heart to your boss to tell them about Christ and eternal life and to call all of them to accept Christ, to confront them, but to help them become disciples of Jesus Christ.<\/span><\/p>\n
